My favorite was actually probably the 72' LTD.


Bought it from a used car dealer who came to the US from NZ every year to ski for 600 back in the eighties.


I called it the White Whale.


Sold it back to him one year later for the same price.

71 vw bus, 2nd owner... will never sell it, no matter the offer. 70 vw bug, wouldn’t sell it either, too much work and money has been put into it, plus it’s a supercool show car.

I’ve owned hundreds if not thousands of cars, been buying and flipping them since the 80’s. My favorite was a 69 Dodge Dart GTS, unfortunately I was young and ignorant and had no idea what the value of it would be today. Owned it for a short time, bought it and immediately sold it.

First car I bought myself in high school since I needed 4 wheels vs my 2 wheeled bicycle was a ....

1962 VW with the full canvas sunroof and 27 HORSEPOWER engine!! NO HEAT of course for one of those early bugs.

That thing was a SCREAMER ... ME screaming at it to go faster, go faster, go faster, as it would top out at around 48mph, sometimes 50mph!!

Downhill with a tailwind though I could get it up to slightly over 55mph! which put me into heaven!

Actually was FUN to drive, compared to riding my bicycle - my only other option, and never let me down mechanically except for once when the ONE brake cylider it had blew out as I was going downhill to a stop sign at a very busy intersection. I about pulled that emgency break handle out of the floor as I tried to get that bug stopped before I ended up being a squished bug from the semi that was barreling down the highway towards that intersection.

In 1962 VW still used a 6 volt battery so when it gave up the ghost I had to mail order one in from Sears and Roebuck since nobody in town stocked any 6 volt car batteries and nobody could order one in, but during that week it took to arrive I learned the fine art of PUSH STARTING that bug and then jumping in and popping the clutch to get it going. (it used a generator NOT an alternator so NO electrical juice required to excite the alternator to make it run)

I had LOTS of high school fun with that car.

I have had nicer cars since then, including sports cars, but for pure psychic enjoyment I have to say that severely underpowered 1962 Volkswagon Bug with the full canvas sun roof sits at the top of my list. It could do everything I as a 16yo male with virtually NO money that I wanted it to do.

(just wish it had heat in the winter though ... the colder it got the more you had to ROLL DOWN the side windows so the FLAT front window wouldn't frost up - drove me to buy my first pair a LL Bean wool lined winter hunting/duck boots)

68 Charger with a 550 hp 440. It was a locomotive. Awesome on the highways. And a 72 Cuda with a screamer 340 in it. It could chase BMW’s in the twisties, and in some cases beat them good.

i got older and am not interested in sporty cars any more.

my current favorite is a '98 cadillac deville that is cherry
with only 80K on the odometer. i don't drive much, but when
i do, i want to be in a frigging big assed car. caddies
got smaller in the 2000's, so i stick with my older monster four door.

One thing about those Northstar engines is you have to open them out once and a while

Yup. I loved mine but was worried about the head gasket issue.

You two did a beautiful job restoring that car.

Those early Mustangs had BEAUTIFUL lines and a nice tight suspension for cruising the highways at 120-130mph, though mechanically my 65 one always needed something fixed.

Keep the memories of the two of you together and treasure them.

Mercedes and Lincoln its hard to drive something generic afterwards.

they have oiling issues too, but so far, i have to add
a few quarts of oil after about 6 tanks of fuel.

i plan on scrapping it if it becomes a problem, but i don't
drive it daily, so it might last for quite a while.

i have a '99 lincoln towncar, but they quit making them
as big as they used to.

the crazy thing will do 100 mph with even more pedal leftover though, because i think
that ford used similar engines that they put in cop cars
in it.

You have to love the old V8's...those were cars!

Never had a car.

In order of ownership starting with my 1st one back in 1984.
These are all the ones I consider mine. I am not including the ones I consider my wife's She likes newer ones where I prefer older vehicles. Funny thing is her new vehicles are less reliable than my older ones. Her 2019 jeep has been in the shop 8 times for different things in 3 years. My Grand Prix has 1 time for a fuel pump and the corvette broke a shifter cable. Her Jeep is not capable of pulling my trailer so I have to keep the old Jeep just for that.

98 Corvette #1 that I bought with 89,000 miles and sold it with 350,000 miles and still running strong. I got a in trouble for doing 177MPH in a 45MPH zone

07 Grand Prix GXP #2. I still have it. It is super fast with 375HP. The only things I do not like are the fact6s that it is a 4 door and FWD

87 Fiero GT #3 This would be the 1st one I owned. It was in showroom condition. I traded it for the 1st 86 Corvette
