Let's discuss in a little more detail It's been alleged many, many times on here, that pro sports, (and most often, the NFL), are rigged. But 99% of the time, the depth of the argument begins and ends with: "pro sports are rigged."
So, I have 3 questions (I'm going to stick with just NFL football on these):
1: Do you contend that the officiating crew are the only ones "in on it?" Or the players too?
If just the officiating crew, it is far from guaranteed that they will achieve the rigged outcome they are trying to achieve.
Compromised officials can try, but sometimes bad play by the team that's supposed to win, or cover a point spread, can thwart that plan. Or likewise, good plays by the other team.
2: If players are in on it too, is it just some of the players? Or all of the players?
If just some of the players, refer back to question 1. The outcome they're trying to achieve could still, possibly, not happen.
3: If players are in on it, why haven't there been any down on their luck and broke former players who have spoken out about it?
What's to stop them? One possible thing that would stop them: If they make the claim, but it's not true, they get sued.
But if it is true, I don't see what would stop them.
But as far as I'm aware, no former player has. |
