Enoch is considered by many to be the exception, who is said to "not see death" (Hebrews 11:5). Furthermore, Genesis 5:22–24 states that Enoch lived 365 years, which is shorter than other pre-Flood Patriarchs, who are all recorded as dying at over 700 years of age

JR Church, renowned Bible scholar and scholar of the ancient languages, did an extensive study of Enoch. I think it would pair well with these videos. He was able to deduce which parts were corrupted and which parts can be trusted. JR Church was also a proponent of the Genesis 6 theory.

There were many 2nd and 3rd century redactions and expansions of Enoch.

What we do know is that the Enoch we have today is not the Enoch that was originally used by the 1st century church.

The only Enoch Jude appears to give credence is the famous 1st chapter poetic utterance of Enoch and the fall of the watchers, which does appear to be authentic pre-Babylonian Enoch. I hold Enoch chapter 1 to be a legitimate prophetic annunciation by Enoch the prophet preserved by oral and written tradition through the flood by Noah and his sons.

It was a wise move to remove it from the canon of the Bible as it really never comprised a part of Ezra's 12 books of history, the prophets, or the NT. However, it is held in memory as 'scripture' in its own right as long as one is reading the original portions. However, it is best for Enoch to remain a 'hidden' book (Apocrypha). It's been too corrupted textually and Biblical scholars knew it a long time ago.

thats from the protestant canon, there are older denominations, and a number of churches that still have Enoch, Ethiopean church for example, also significantly, The Lord and the apostles quote the LXX in regards to Genesis to Malachi, because the LXX is a true greek translation of the Original ebrew, not the abomination now called the masoretic text, meaning kjv, does have a large problem, and i do appreciate KJV, for without it, i would never have found out how wicked spiritual organisations really are, Praise YAH, HalleluYAH , YAHshua rules

Well, if you don't take my word for it, which is probably wise since this is GLP and full of shill idiots, read Dr Charles' lengthy introduction to Enoch in his translation. It will give you the basic overview of the development of Enoch.

I went through an Enoch stint years ago in theology school and was satisfied that at very least the 1st chapter comprises a primitive and authentic annunciation of a historical Enoch.

And, like you, even on text critical grounds, I agree that LXX is closer to the original autographs than the corrupt MT.

Enoch wasnt removed, it was never included in the majority text of the gospel. Enoch, Jubilees, Jasher, book of adam and eve (all of which i have read entirely) have catholic/gnostic origens, good for a read but NOT the authorized gospel, nor will it ever be. The bible tells us in Genesis 6 about the fallen angels taking wifes and birthing nephillims and giants, the bible also mentions the abominations of divination and astrology, whereas enoch is full of astrological occult principles and those things are to be avoided for those in the faith. Approach enoch and the so called "lost" or "forgotten" books with caution is all im saying. King James and his 50 brilliant translators knew what they were doing with the books they chose, when asked why he didnt included such books as enoch in his majority text masterpiece bible, he said he wasnt a papist.

There's a couple of smart guys within this thread. Enoch is not a book of the Bible yet it is cited in several books of the Bible both Old and New Testament.

Seems to me that it was taken from the Bible more as a political move in the 1st to 2nd century to placate a certain religious group who murdered our Lord and Savior.

Yes, and if you compare the LXX, to masoretic texts, the diferences are so major, and important, where they are different, lets just take Danile and esther, as examples here, that one ids true and one is not.

In regards to Enoch and Elijah, the early church, first 300 years, believed that Enoch and Elijah, will be the two witnessess, who stand unbound and unbroken against Antichrist and crew, in Jerusalem , for the 3 and half years of the great tribulation, till they get killed, very intresting, amazing, Lord Your perfect will manifest amen
