Why did the James Webb Space Telescope appear to curve back and forth in the sky?

In this video we take a look at why JWST had such an odd motion during the time lapse I recorded this past weekend and we revisit our old friend, parallax. That's right, the same principle that caused ISON to look like an angled "UFO" in a stacked image from Hubble also caused JWST to look like a mirrored S shape in my time lapse over the weekend. Only instead of being caused by Hubble's orbit around the earth, this time it was caused by earth's rotation. After calculating the orbit, I ran a simulation looking back at earth from the perspective of JWST and sure enough, a flipped image of the curve lines up perfectly with the apparent motion of Florida relative to the background stars over the same time period.

Earth wobble you don't see it in wide angle shots or high magnification shots?

You mean Chandler wobble? No, you won't see it over this time scale nor at this angular resolution, which was about 1.25 arcseconds per pixel. Chandler wobble is a tiny effect, it's measured in milliarcseconds.

They are purposely turning it a little bit to prevent the sun from destroying the sensitive receptors.

But the different observed path is probably from the light path through Earth's atmosphere coming through at different angles. WHen you look at an under water fish to try and spear him, you need to correct for the index of refraction effects, which differ for various viewing angles.

Also, the rat theory makes sense. :)

How else they going to keep ppl believing Earth is a spinning ball if they don't make the sky images curve & swirl.

What sort of resolution does this puppy have anyway?

What sort of range say, for it to photo something like this, where it would be in some other solar system pointed at us? A few light years? A dozen?

So how does this work in your head? You think they have sky wizards projecting magic that makes it look like there's a spacecraft right where it should be? And if I can get some simultaneous observations going tonight, I can measure the distance directly with parallax as well, I guess they somehow project this fake image out into space farther than the moon? And you think this ridiculous handwaving is more likely than Earth being a rotating planet, like all the other rotating planets in the solar system?

Well, The BIG question is, or should be, How close is the Destroyer of the Kolbrin. That they had to put an infrared scope up into space to watch it as nothing else see's it till its earth shaking.

It is low enough to be influenced by the waves of 5G now radiating from the satellites that are beaming the frequencies to earth. Sort of like when your car drives through a wind gust, it rolls from the turbulence. So, if 5G can cause the orbiting telescope to wobble; imagine what the heavy frequency does to our brains.

Same reason the sun and moon go up for several hours and then down for several ?

When does JWST reach L 1? When will it probably start operating?

This is just 1 of 100s of amateur astronomers who have photographed Jupiter's rotation.

You can see the same with any half decent scope.

Drag?? in space??
I suppose there is a tiny bit of stuff out there to impart drag, but it would take years to impact any trajectory so you would notice.
