7% are supposed to be covid cases, of which the government is saying most are unvaxxed (whether that's no shots or without the booster, who knows.)

Each province listed has between 1,500-15,000 Omicron cases. If each province has between 72-78% of their population fully vaccinated then the "80% of Omicron cases are fully vaccinated" statement makes sense.

Latest data from Sweden tho disproves or flips the OP. So here our data says that you must look at both the total number and the prevelance ratio number combined.

With confirmed ICU cases for unvaccinated the rate per 100,000 pepople is ~1.6 at week 49 this year. And for vaccinated it is ~0.2 for the same week.

Another data point tho is that the data since summer for deaths, above 80% have been "vaccinated at least once or more" and that is mostly elderly population that have a high risk anyway to die and due to the effectiveness of the vaccine pre booster shot number 3 their protection wanes off.

But on the flip side if you check for dead per age-group combined with vaccination status, basically all dead in the vaccinated group is 65+ at the rate about 1-1.5 per 100,000 people, and in the unvaccinated group you have around 4-6 dead per 100,000 people in the 65+ age group, about 0.1-0.2 in 50-64 years of age and below 0.05 in any age below 50.

Lastly if you look at the confirmed cases in both groups, at week 49 you have ~300 cases per 100,000 people in the unvaccinated group and ~125 per 100,000 people in the vaccianted group. Note here that both graphs have the same uptrend across time and the vaccine just cuts the infected rate to about 1/3 but scaled about the same.

I am 66 and in my childhood I knew kids that had polio and arms that didn't grow properly....
