Why doesn’t god give a more modern version of the Bible for us folks who don’t understand.

I mean seriously the human race is floundering how hard would it be for god to appear in the sky for everyone to see and say “listen you dumbasses, this is the full story. These are the things you should be doing. Now I’m going to heal all of the sick just to further prove this is no trick. I’ll also disappear all of the evil mofos: pedos, murderers, rapists etc. Everyone who is left has a clean slate so if you don’t follow the rules I’m going to go all Old Testament on your ass.”
