I would say take the attitude that you are here for service to help others
when you forget about yourself, then you are on your way out
but first, how do you know you are in a simulation?
being unhappy being in just means you are unhappy, and in

work, help others, forget yourself and ego, being miserable
when you cast off the illusion that you are powerless to random outside forces controlling your fate, then you will find yourself resonating at a more natural level which creates learning opportunities to give you the tools and experiences which predicate outness
