Never heard any of Poppy's music but have been aware of her for a few years. Not that I'm against her as an artist or her musical endeavors. Just haven't taken the time.

Something I'm interested in is what happened to her predecessor, her immediate stylistic forebearer, Mars Argo?

Gave the two examples above a listen.

I'm a fan of retrowave, synth-pop, downtempo, and various other forms of electronica. Not that she's terrible, but her music isn't quite my thing thus far.

Her package feels too forced and artificial. She garnered much attention at first but may have limited her future by going that route without having the vocal talent to expand upon.

I will have to listen to more of her music to look for hidden gems, like I'm playing Zelda.
