A few years ago the predicted life cycle was 300-500 charge cycles |

You should tell Elon Musk about it because Tesla's can only achieve 1,500 charging cycles. Elon has stated that the Model 3's battery was designed to last 300,000 to 500,000 miles (or 1,500 charging cycles). [link to shop.gwl.eu (secure)] 1, lithium battery life, performance, etc. are affected by many aspects, especially the impact of the four major materials. Lithium titanate is only a negative electrode material, and how a material can be improved is also difficult to give the product an unrivalled advantage. Moreover, the positive electrode material is the most important material that affects the performance of lithium batteries. 2. The biggest disadvantage of lithium titanate battery is low energy density and high cost. In particular, the low energy density is determined by the principle performance of the negative electrode material lithium titanate, and it is difficult to have a large breakthrough space. Costs can be reduced by scale, and based on weaknesses in principle. They cannot be changed by technology. 3. As for the lithium titanate battery claimed to have a long service life, it is more difficult to be certified. Battery life is also affected by the positive electrode material, electrolyte, diaphragm, and operating temperature. Lithium titanate is used as a negative electrode, and it also has problems such as flatulence and long-term use consistency. At present, it cannot be proved that lithium acid batteries will last longer than other batteries. At present, lithium iron phosphate and ternary batteries have a cycle life of more than 2,000 times. According to the general use frequency, it can be achieved for 7-10 years. With the advancement of technology, there will be 3,000 times and 4,000 times. Too far away, the situation can be used for more than 10 years or even 20 years of service life, which will exceed the general life cycle of the car. Lithium titanate batteries have no advantage even if they have a long life. 4, lithium titanate battery to do less enterprises will lead to less investment in the industry's overall R & D, from the current battery companies R & D investment and planning investment, few companies will focus on the development of lithium titanate batteries. In the future, other lithium battery technologies will advance faster than lithium titanate batteries. 5, war new production research from the perspective of industry trends, do not believe that international mainstream companies do not do good technology, will shine in China. China's basic research is still far from the level of international advanced enterprises. It is tantamount to whimsical to want to leak in the international technology trend. The market space for lithium titanate batteries will be very limited in the future. There is basically no space in the auto industry, and the space for the auto industry in the future will be smaller than it is now. The field of energy storage can be tried, but it will never become the mainstream. Coupled with the high price, compared with the high cost performance of the future storage of energy batteries, the prospect of lithium titanate in the field of energy storage is also worrying. |
