When I was born in the early 1970s, I was considered an oddity because I began walking at age seven months and was talking at nine months. I was completing full five to eight word sentences at fourteen months. I read Old Yeller aloud to my mother at four years old. I was able to read the Empire Strikes Back the novelization at age eight years old. I read Asimov's Foundation at ten.

That said, it's quite the anomaly to have a child less than a day old raise its head.

Could be reverse evolution... I bet chimps and baby gorilla, orangutan etc can hold their head up that early, heck they have to be able to hold on to their mothers as they climb through the trees.

Mine pulled himself across the bed at a week old. The only person who believed me was the person in the room at the time. Some of them just come out all muscles.

My second child did this. Rose his head less than 24 hours old from a tummy position! (we were taking pictures) I was shocked! But then I was MORE shocked when his dad said that he did the very same thing as a child. Until I saw it with my own 2 eyes, I was under the impression babes did not do this. This was over 10 years ago when he was born. This is not a vax thing I would think. My first child did not do this, but she was born weighing 10lbs. So...I dunno? :shrug:

He couldn't do it prolongued. You probably don't remember, had 5 boys. The first was 10 lbs 5 ounces, my second oldest over 9 lbs, and its about 3 months until they can keep their heads up ,till their neck muscles develop sufficiently.

They can lift their wobbly heads a bit and really look at you, and they can get startled. But its not muscle control and shaking or having a fright or jar can really hurt them.

In fact often around 2 months they're playing the sit up game with you, getting balance and training muscles, and having fun.

Babies are so delightful, so much fun, loved that stage. Went on for years for me. In fact between pregnancy and nursing it was 10 years, and for much of that time, not even getting a proper bath or sleep, cat naps, and my one escape artist, when you locked up the house completely and had a bath, had a knock on the door And old lady had just brought my 2 year old to the door, and I was wrapped in a towel, interrupted bath, rare baths at that, and then I noticed he had moved the chair to unlock the old fashioned latch deadbolt.

Every newborn has already been moving his head around in the womb and has developed his neck muscles to some degree. If you hold them perfectly straight up and down they can hold their head up because it take almost no strength. You can "balance" the baby's head.

All three of mine did this.

Put him on his back and there is NO WAY a 9 hour old can lift up his head.

They'll age real fast too, if what's being presented is factual and not some BS. We only have the word of someone that it's nine hours old.
