Lot was righteous. Quoting: Cornfox Where does it say that in scripture? It doesn't. It's an AZZumption made because the angels saved him and his family. I'm more inclined to think that God saved them as a 'favor' to Abraham. Lot's actions at the end of the passage are NOT those of someone who is righteous. He made no attempt to return to Abraham's group.
