POLL - How much land do you live on
POLL: How much land do you currently live on
No land, I live in an Apt/condo
1/8 acre (city lot) within City Limits
 1/8 acre in the Suburbs
 1/2 acre in the Suburbs
1-2 1/2 acres in the Suburbs
 2 1/2 -5 acres beyond the Suburbs
 5 - 10 acres in rural area
10 -40 acres in rural area
 more than 40 Acres
 Blank (View Results)

Just curious - because it seems to me that there are as many "country folk" as "city dwellers" contributing to the discussions in GLP - which is unusual because most people do live in the city/suburbs/metros, more than in rural areas, in general - but I am always surprised at how many people contribute to "gardening" topics - which got me curious because most "family" gardens require more than a "yard" to produce enough food to can or store... and very few people garden anymore but these topics are always active.

We own 8 acres 1 hour outside of a major city
And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.

it would be interesting to note, if you live on more than 2 and a half acres - if you have a garden or any live stock .. I have goats to keep the fields mowed, a horse, chickens, and a dog - and cats. I also have a garden -

I know, I tried to edit but you can't edit a poll question ... I would have put it with 1/4- 1/2 acre lot, but it is too late now to fix it

Re: POLL - How much land do you live on
interesting early results ... which confirm my theory that there are just as many "country folk" contributing to these discussions ... may be why GLP seems to be "balanced" in its perspectives of the topics being discussed

Re: POLL - How much land do you live on
well it never made it back to the first page, because the first page is filled with OLD topics that were never pinned - instead of new topics - that seem to just vanish after an hour even though they are active ??

Re: POLL - How much land do you live on
so with only a few people participating, it seems that most of the people who contribute to the topics on GLP ... live in rural areas ...

all of the people who contributed to this poll - live in the USA ... isn't that interesting ... do people in other countries not live on land ?

maybe the next poll should be "where do you live in the USA ?"

Re: POLL - How much land do you live on
Im on 1/8 acre in palm beach county and have raised 30 meat chickens, 6 hens, a turkey, a beehive, 500g aquaponics tanks with tilapia. multiple garden beds. 50+ different fruit trees with some Ive grafted with multiple varieties. I do have a nice lake behind the house thats connected to canals that run all through the county. Its loaded with fish.

I also have a shadehouse/greenhouse where Im propagating 100s and 1000s of various tropical fruit trees.

The plan was to get some property when I retired last year and start a small farm/nursery but prices shot up and now I await a market crash..Ive been practicing my farming skills for years. I have many books on raising every farm animal too!

Im hoping the influx of new residents doesnt keep the prices elevated.
