The problem with your everyday Christian
Let’s say you believe you are the chosen one. If you die today, and realize you were wrong, would you be able to admit you were not the chosen one? After all, you’re dead now. All the people you told about being the chosen one think you went to heaven. And they likewise will repeat the same mistake. And it goes on and on forever.

Do you understand?

I’m not saying you’re wrong and don’t have a special purpose. You might or might not be special, it just depends on what you do in life to prove it. Simply being alive does not make you special.

The whole point of me talking so much about this topic is because you must take control of your own life. Don’t resign to fate because “God is watching over you.”

That is true, but I was just addressing the Christians who think too highly of themselves. They need to get off their lazy ass and do some research and prep for the end times instead of just waiting for somebody to save them. There’s a lot of them out there.

I agree OP. There's nothing wrong with the gospel of jesus, he was one of the great prophets in past times.

Modern day Christians have.... issues. Not all, but some are just...wayyyy out there. Not exactly practicing what they preach.

Not nearly enough critical thinking in some groups, the more radical evangelicals, are akin to terrorists in my mind. The vatican are basically pure evil as well. Good in small pockets.

Prosthletysing, picketing, and trying to convert people... judging others... not very Christian sometimes.

That is just a bunch of nonsense.

There is knowing Christ Jesus and there is not knowing Him.

Anyone who doesn't know Him is already useless.

Anyone who knows Him, already knows their own life is nothing.

Your argument is dumb.

the general problem with people is that they do not understand that there is only one person on earth.

it's just that this one person has 8 billion masks.

when you understand this as not only a divine truth, but as a universal truth, everything starts making sense.

however, when you cannot recognise yourself, your world will be unrecognisable and you will be lost.

Yes, mainstream Christianity has been turned into a psyop that most people don’t even realize. It influences behavior on a planetary level. In fact they even call themselves lambs. Which is another name for sheep.

These days we have bigger dangers than the pitfalls of religion...

we have people dressed up as furry creatures, doing what i can only surmise to be really devious in nature.

We have corporations, poisoning the earth itself and taxing us for their liabilities.

We have forever chemicals mixing in at lethal levels, forever. We will need robot bodies to survive this place soon. Or genetic manipulation.

Jesus took a nap in a boat during a storm because he was waiting on God and not worried about anything.

If I call myself a disciple of Christ, I can't exactly get out of my responsibility to takes naps in storms too and not worry about anything.

I used to believe in Karma. But its very difficult to believe it now, especially when the most corrupt and evil people all get to enjoy the wonderful life, meanwhile the good and decent struggle with unbearable hardship for most of their lifetime.

Something is very wrong with this. Perhaps God is a true scumbag, taking care of his kind on earth.

Interesting discussion but just a few comments. First, you state that Jesus "was one of the great prophets in past times". Alot of people think he was a good man/prophet/etc. Here is the problem with that logic. Going just on Jesus' OWN WORDS when he stated things like "I am the way, no man can come to the Father but by me", and "he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live", so forth and so on, HIS OWN WORDS, you are left with just two choices: either Jesus was exactly who he said he was, the Savior, or he was a lunatic. No in between, no comfortable politically correct middle ground. Just those two choices. Second point, I agree some Christians are "wayyy out there". Just like alot of non-christians I see. We are NOT perfect, although some seem to try to act like they are. God knows I'm not, but I simply try to live my life in a way that would please the one who is perfect and try to treat others the way I would like to be treated. Am I successful all the time? NOPE. Do I royally screw up at times? YEP. But I try. My last point: you criticize Christians for "judging others". You are correct, some Christians have a bad habit of judging others, but many don't. Before you judge Christians too harshly, look in the mirror and ask the person you see, what would happen if I were to die and find out that Christians were right, and the person who posted the question on this original thread, "realize you were wrong", was himself in error?

Re: The problem with your everyday Christian
The two main voices in this thread do not understand Christian theology, what being "Saved" means, and what is required of a Christian in this life, in this place.

Also, there's a hint of "Don't try to tell me what to do" which always smacks of fear...the fear that you cannot face simple advice and choose for yourself whether to embrace or reject it.

If I say to you "You should convert to Christianity"

You are free to say "No thanks!" and move on with your day.

If I say to you, with a cigarette in my mouth, "You should not smoke..."

You should probably not smoke. You should SURELY not deicde "Well, that sonofabitch is smoking so how dare he tell me not to! Give me a pack, please!"

But first and foremost, if you're going to try to dissect a belief system, you should really understand what that belief system actually is, versus what you THINK you know about it.

You come off dumb.

If jesus was a gnostic or studied in India he wouldnt have claimed himself an avatar.. again, king james version has many problems and thats an issue with modern christians who cant look past the kjv. Bible is great but its just one of many sacred texts. Btw im a freemason so im not going to entertain certain parts of your reply out of duty to obligation but cheers and have a good day

Run away from the religions of the world! Run for your life from the religious buildings!

Repent! (to change one's mind), and believe by faith!

I do not know anyone who thinks they are the "chosen one". So that rules out virtually all Christians.

However, why are atheist so obsessed with Christians? You should embrace your afterlife of nothingness and leave others alone.
