I built a container home in Calfornia last year. Everything came from HD, Lowes and Platt.

A home has thousands of parts. Supply chain disruption can happen on anything.

You need to make a list NOW. Get a shipping container you can use for storage on the job site, you can rent or buy. Those are in short supply too.

You will probably be OK with masonry items, they are mainly domestically sourced, including steel, which is recycled. Same with drywall.

You will also be dealing with escalating price inflation; expect prices to go up 20-50% over the next year. They printed $12T after all. For this reason, I recommend buying all wire and electrical components, plumbing goods. Toilets and vanities are imported, you should buy those, too.

Windows and doors were in short supply and you should order everything ahead of time, they had 8 week leads on custom windows and doors. Try to use standard sized everything.

I would pick up fasteners, those will go up in price, as well as any appliances.

Good luck!

Vinyl siding is in short supply here. So are roof shingles.
