And now my non CT friends are talking super deep Tonight out of the blue about "the decision point".

Even people who aren't like us are feeling the weight of something on them tonight, this is odd

FWIW AT&T cellular service in central Virginia only carried voice and text for about two hours this evening.

I had to switch my Internet over to my backup Hughes Internet satellite service which never stopped working to send or receive other data.

AT&T is now back to working normally.

As a customer of theirs for over thirty years on Gov contracts, this is the first time I have experienced such a long outage.

My Uncle says this is legit

Gonna for sure happen in just 2 more hours or 2 more weeks.

Interesting, I see they show the outage time and also notice that AT&T doesn't seem to market cellular WIFI for home Internet service. I guess people like me using 700+ GB per month on cellular data are why they don't market it to the general public.

That's one service I will never cancel as they don't offer it now, 'same goes for the 90 GB data on their cell phone and laptop service plans.

From the web site [link to downdetector.com (secure)] AT&T has near-national wireless coverage. Internet and local phone services are available in select areas and use either DSL or Fiber (Uverse) technology networking technology. AT&T also operates the Wayport Wi-Fi hotspots.
Last problem: Jan. 11, 2022 at 6:56 p.m.

Let me tell you what happened to me tonight. My husband had a deposit to go into our checking account for over $2K+ this evening. It was in our available bank balance.

We live in a rural area and have to shop at Walmart on occasion. Before we went to Walmart, we went out to eat at a local restaurant because we had been busy today. Between the time we left the restaurant and the time that I checked out at Walmart (my purchase was $52.90), my debit card was declined twice. I almost went into a near panic.

I called the cashier who was working the self-checkout and she very quickly keyed in some entries on the screen and said, "It's the machine!". Then, my purchase went thru. (After a certain hour at our local Walmart, only self-checkout is available)

Now, to reiterate....there was over $2k in the checking account. I came home and pulled up our online checking and it showed a negative balance in red, followed by the input of the deposit AGAIN. I've never seen this happen before.

Somewhere between leaving the restaurant and checking out at Walmart, our entire balance disappeared.....and then it reappeared. The negative balance in red gave it away. Now, something is VERY WRONG with that. We're calling the bank tomorrow to find out if they were hacked or something weird was going on at Walmart.

Are you a Ham? Are they setup for local repeaters? I'm a Ham, and sent one of my handhelds with my kid when he went back to school. Set it up for the repeaters in his college town, and on the way back home. He's not licensed, but during emergencies, that's okay. IF the radios are set up right.

Lots of people buy the cheap radios, but don't know enough to set them up with the CTCS freqs, offsets, etc. they'll be surprised when nobody hears them.

Who wouldn't take that offer.
