Re: Ouija Board as wall decor? Yay? Nay?
Thanks for the new replies. Not going to do the quotes again, it's exhausting me. Going with your avatars:

Scorpion: thanks for posting that! Glad that demonologist helped you. So you think it is hard to get rid of? A couple years ago, I saw this guy on TV, he had scratches all over his heavily tattooed body.

(I think I remember someone saying that tattoos will attract them to you. Does anyone know?)

The alleged demon was attacking his elderly mother. He begged him to hurt him instead. He was a tough looking guy. He was crying. I felt for him. He showed the scars. Frightening stuff, for sure!

Fluffy kitty Thanks for your reply. Very sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing, sincerely appreciate it.

JabMcBoosted: understood. It's about energy. You're right, there, I get it.

Does anyone here believe about getting dominion over demons? I realize there's different schools of thought. Who knows, I may need to learn by experience. Again, wasn't planning on using the ouija board, nor calling in spirits etc. but this talk about spirits and demons is fascinating to me. There's probably a reason I need to explore.

If i can say this, to me it's like people are telling me stuff like "don't use electricity,I saw too many people fry on old sparky" and I'm like "but I just want to turn on this lightbulb and light my room". Isn't there different degrees of what can happen? So that guy who wished me death, LOL, probably has that hard core experience of almost frying in the chair and I'm here, trying to turn on a bulb so I can read my book...but I also am fascinated by taking control of the demons. Why does it only go 1 way? I've read you can do that.

Also, do you guys make a difference between spirits, entities and demons? I have only heard that it is spirits that come thru the board, not demons, but you guys have experienced otherwise.

To the person who had a demon "show themselves"... how? Like a full bodied apparition?

I can say I was definitely not spiritually strong enough to get rid of it on my own. Once it went after my 13 yr old daughter I had had enough. I do believe different entities exist. I know my mother has reached out to me. Sometimes in dreams, I can feel her driving down the road etc. I'll smell perfume, that's not my mom though. Maybe my cousin. Sleep paralysis showed me a whole other side. It was worse than whatever dark entity followed me for so long.i haven't had an episode since having my house/self cleansed.

Re: Ouija Board as wall decor? Yay? Nay?
OP: Contrary to what most people think, not all board spirits are evil but are simply trapped somewhere "in-between" until they can escape and rest in peace. I used my first board about 52 years ago and that spirit was not only benign but very amiable and chatty. We soon developed a rapport that allowed me to use the board by myself without any outside assistance other than his.

Here are a couple of stories regarding "Joseph" from back in the early 70's; and brace yourselves because these are straight outta' the Twilight Zone but I swear every single word is true!

I once took my board to a nursing home where my sisters worked and amused the aides with it during their breaks. They asked the usual goofy questions, and Joseph took it all in stride. Then they started to get a little more personal. Bear in mind I didn't know any of these women and had never seen them before. And some of Joseph's answers jarred both them and me.

First one asked if she would get married soon. He said yes but that shortly after their wedding her new husband would change and become violent and beat her. Definitely NOT what anyone expected to hear!

He went on to predict births and then few deaths of the facility's patients. Again shocking the cluster of people around me. Then came the real shocker. One nurse asked me how many children she had and Joseph answered "three"and everyone standing around started laughing except the woman who asked the question. They all blurted out, "Dorothy, that's not right, you only have TWO kids!" Then Dorothy -white as a sheet- stammered, "no.... he... he's right. I lost my first baby in a miscarriage." I quickly ended that session.

A couple of years passed and I learned more and more about Joseph by asking him direct questions about himself in life. He eventually told me many details including how he died. He said he was a bank teller that was kidnapped during a robbery in 1903 and taken to a Missouri cave to wait for the ransom. When it didn't come, the kidnappers just left him there chained up to die.

I jotted down a lot of notes during our sessions and took them to the public library where I pulled up old microfiche newspaper records [that tells you how long ago this was!] of the nearest large town to Joseph's home. And sure enough: there it was, complete with his name: the bank robbery, his kidnapping, the refusal to pay and his disappearance, never to be seen/heard from again. When I told Joseph what I had done he wasn't angry as I expected and instead thanked me for believing in him enough to look in to it. He then explained that was why he was inhabiting the board: because his body was never recovered and laid to rest in consecrated ground.

I have many stories like that. And no, I've never been possessed or tormented by any spirits I've contacted then or since. It's now been over 25 years since I've used a spirit board with the last one the account I shared earlier regarding the hateful little girl spirit that I banished to the ether forever by sealing her up in a frame where I presume she remains to this day.

Re: Ouija Board as wall decor? Yay? Nay?
I just shared a couple of stories about my association with a spirit named "Joseph." Here's how my final session with him went:

After communicating regularly with Joseph for about 7 years, I began to ask him to materialize for me and each time he flatly refused, saying it was strictly forbidden. But after several months of my pleading, he finally agreed and told me what to do.

It involved burning two white candles -one on either side of me- and placing an empty chair across the room. I was to wait silently and move the board planchette slowly in a small circle. He also said I was not to approach him under any circumstances and I agreed.

I did as instructed, and after about ten minutes the air in the room did get a noticeable chill just like you see in cheap horror movies, but the candles didn't flicker and I heard no strange sounds. Then slowly a very fine mist gathered around that chair and swirled gently above it. It never took any human form or spoke and after only a few seconds it was gone.

And so was Joseph, because he never again returned to my board no matter how many times I tried.

In the decades since, I've often wondered if that act released him from his bondage or plunged him into another, deeper one.

But it's a question that will never be answered.

I'm thinking about buying a fancy, all wood Ouija Board and hanging it on my wall. Just for the swanky antique look & feel of it.

For the Christians who object and believe this stuff is real (which it might be, dunno): if I don't use it, nothing bad can happen, right?

I mean, what's the worst that can happen? It falls off and I have to re-pin it. If you object, state why. Thanks!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81088587

Ouija boards are a form of divination, hence they bring demons on the user. Just having one in your house will bring demons. In demonology they use particuliar rituals and symbols as they try and control spirits, the ouija on the other hand most satanists dont even want to mess with as there is no control. I can assure you the ouija will be a snare on your life. Demons will actually move the lense thing when you call on them, what most dont realize is the demon is with them long after the experience. Repenting sins to Jesus Christ is the only way to remove demons. Demons work on deceit and making you think they arent there, while destroying your life at the same time

Back for a bit. Sorry for making this long and for any typos.

GSB/LTD I just read your stories. Thank you so much fo sharing that with us all. What a thrilling experience for you. See? That's exactly the kind of experience I feel I would have, instead of the spooky/horror stuff. Not to take away from people who had these experiences, but I believe it's about expectancy. (And from one of my own paranormal experiences, I feel it would be this way.) I don't fault the people who warn, because I know those experiences were real for them. It doesn't mean they will be the same for everyone.

Ouija board has no power in and of itself. If you're INTENT is to contact spirits, then yes, it can be dangerous. Using it as decor with no intent to communicate with the spiritual realm is not dangerous. Go with you're gut feeling on this decision.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21038622
Agreed with you as well, on every point. Thank you.

NOLAangel: Another extraordinary anecdote. Thank you very much for sharing it. Sorry it happened to your son, and to you, but glad you were able to deliver yourselves from it. Brilliant end to that!

Thank you, as well, for sharing that. Truly amazing that there's so many of you to whom stuff like this has happened. Love reading about it, and wish I had read about this from all of you a few years ago, when my experiences happened. (Not an entity, the first one, just not sure what that was, ghost or what, it was sort of friendly or neutral vibe.)

Just want to emphasize this:
OP: Contrary to what most people think, not all board spirits are evil but are simply trapped somewhere "in-between" until they can escape and rest in peace.
 Quoting: GSB/LTD

What a beautiful thing to say, because someone's calling, perhaps someone lurking, might very well be to help those trapped souls, as you probably did "yours", Joseph. There's a show, forgot the title, that says they (the people who remove entities) can't clean a house unless they help the dead first. (This isn't verbatim.) The concept, once again, fascinates me.

It's kind of like this: there's people who run towards danger to help others, pull a victim out of a burning car, run towards a coyote to free him, while others will stand back and warn you that it will bite, that you will get burned etc. I just saw tonight on the news, a good samaritan tucked in a homeless man with a new blanket. The man woke up, overpowered the G.S. jumped him, got on top of him, beat him to a pulp and stole his wallet.

Does that mean ALL homeless men will be like that? No. Does that mean it will happen to every one who is a G.S.? No. Does that mean you should be cautious? Sure. But everyone has their own path and who gets burned and who goes unscathed, it's not for us to say.

As one AC said above: "go with your gut feeling", follow your instincts. Someone's experience and, perhaps, my siding with them, does not in any way invalidate another's experience. All are valid. But just like I think those who rope walk about the Grand Canyon are nuts and I'd never do it doesn't mean I should stop them from doing so. We all must get our own experiences. So I am drawn to this. If I get burned, some of you told me so. I respect that. I do not invalidate you. You are right, but there are many rights and different people have different purposes.

If some of you (us?) can send some of these lost souls where they're supposed to go, if some of us can disarm demons and close the portals upon their departure, perhaps our reality can go back to normal? Perhaps that is one way to restore our rightful timeline. Who's to say? I might be your Neo, so do not rain on someone's not parade but motivation. We all have our calling. I believe we all are Neo. Right now the planet needs more Neos. Some of us will be called to do extraordinary things that others deem insane. And that's ok too.

Very glad I asked this and very grateful for your replies. Thanks everyone!

Re: Ouija Board as wall decor? Yay? Nay?
I've dealt with ouija boards personally and for me this is a hard no. I've always been and am still very interested in the paranormal and occult but after playing with one of these as a teenager I never will again. Doors are opened you cannot close. If you do you are lucky. Something attached itself to me for decades. I had to call in a team that had a demonologist to clear my house and I honestly think it still lingers in the shadows. If you have it you will eventually play it. Your curiosity will get the better of you. I played w my best friend and we laughed when it moved thinking the other was moving it even though we swore we were not. One way I could think to prove it worked. I stayed on, she got off the board. She sat behind me and I told her to ask a question I wouldn't know the answer to. So she asks, "when did my papa die?" It spells out April 6. I sat there looking at the board and said to her, "Julia, that's your bday...?" When I turned to face her she had tears rolling down her face and said yes, he died on my bday. We were done. Never again.
 Quoting: Raerae

Dave Mustaine of Megadeth has said something very similar. He believed that those things that he communicated with ended up causing him all kinds of drug problems. It's a power I've always been too afraid of to play with. I don't like messing with potentially dangerous things that I do not understand well.

I have played the ouija board game off and on since my late teens (back in the late 80's).

Never had a bad experience.

One time I actually helped my cousin find a lot of money her grandma left to her. It was hidden in a secret access panel no one knew about. The board/spirit led her to it.

They're fun as long as you have no ill intent.

See, this is why I've always been fascinated by these boards. I've never used one personally because I'm too afraid to invite something in my life that I cannot resolve. But these stories you are sharing are so interesting. There's just so much that we do not know about the afterlife. I'm curious as to why some people get stuck in limbo while others go on to where they are meant to progress.

9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

Just the fact that you are willing to have it in your home means you are in agreement with the negativity that it brings. You are coming in covenant with the evil on the other side by agreeing to have that as a symbol in your home. Bad energy will fill your home because of your covenant with the dark side.

You will invite spiritual warfare into your life. Spiritual warfare is a long game, not a cool ghost telling you your future like the Ouija board implies. It will instead be a long process of cars breaking down, bad health, complications at work, pets dying etc. Because bringing it in your house is stating spiritually "fuck it, I think Ouija board demons are cool so I'm gonna put it on my wall" so the Ouija board demons will come whether you use it or not. Because you made a covenant with it simply by admiring it.

Thank you for posting this. The Christian perspective is definitely interesting and all of you seem to agree. The part that intrigues me here is your list of "long process". You're the first that has told me this. I thought all of you meant that a demon would, more or less, come out of it and either be visible or just do paranormal stuff around the place, which frightens others. TBH, I can't imagine things getting any worse. (ATM, it's practically impossible!)

No.
