It can easily be claimed that since you've never used a spirit board that you are "bearing false witness" by merely parroting what others have said/believe.

So, if Satan is such a great deceiver what makes you think you'll recognize Jesus when he returns? Or will you again rely upon others to tell you the "truth?" And don't give me some bullshit about your "heart" instinctively knowing because that's a copout and as meaningless as saying your faith will never let you down.

Faith can be a double-edged sword because the definition is "the belief in something that cannot be proven." And in the final analysis, that's all you've really got.
