Not to put too fine a point on it, but all religions are steeped in ritualistic mysticism where candles are always present due to an arcane belief that the flame is eternal
[as in "eternal damnation in the fires of Hell"] and yet: the religious burn more "sacred" candles than do satanists or other cults - but that's a bit of an oxymoron since by definition, all religions are cults.

Take a look at the alter of any Catholic church for verification of that as candles are lit to speed prayers to heaven - in larger sanctuaries hundreds can be found burning there. And they are doing so in the fervent hope that a Saint or other spirit will take notice and intervene. Indeed, I defy you to find a church -of any faith- where there aren't at least couple of candles prominently displayed near those altars. And if that's not mysticism, then nothing is and Christians have no right to question anyone else's spiritual methodology.. but of course, they still do!

So how is all of that ritualism really different from asking a spirit board questions to seek guidance or simply entertainment as most are? Short answer: it's okie-dokie to render that sweeping judgement because the church says it is while conveniently ignoring the obvious similarities between the two.

And before anyone points an accusing finger [as many will want to do] and calls me a Devil-worshipper or Satanist there also you would be wrong. I merely recognize superstition, ritualism and mysticism for what they are and understand that all religions fully embrace them... but are too dishonest to admit it.
