The topic of this thread is "Who is the best female pop star of all time?" The Beatles being the biggest pop stars of all time are relevant to the topic of whether musical merit is relevant to this thread.

I like her too. Really though outside of some good songs on here and makin me remember many I've kinda forgotten...the thread question is dumb as there is no ONE best of all time.

The same with male singers...guitarists...drummers...bands and on and on and on.


I like the Garbage band singer Shirley Manson and Amy Lee, back up singers on Dark Side of the Moon, back up Mary Clayton with the Rolling Stones and really a wide array of female singers so I could never say...oh yeah...this one is the best.


My mom at 94 might say Judy Garland, Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, Patsy Cline,Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day and on.

My sister at 70 might say Aretha, Dusty Springfield, Nancy Sinatra, Cher, Diana Ross and on.

My dad was a country music guy and liked many of those women singers too.

I like Sia a lot, but in some of her live performances she tries way to hard and warbles notes way too long. It's almost uncomfortable the way she bends her voice.
