"Losing Grip" by Avril Lavigne is my favorite song by a female pop star because it's an effective mix of so many different styles.

Pop
Heavy metal
Grunge

And it even switches between styles of being a ballad and a hard rock song very effectively. Plus it's very emotional without overdoing it.

All of that makes it unique and great like nothing else I have heard.
