masks need to actually SEAL against the cheek and nose areas. Most paper masks cannot provide this seal, with at best 5% of inhaled air bypassing the mask through the leakage areas. The minimum actual protection is with a silicon rubber fitted mask appliance that you screw the filters into. And this still leaves your eyeballs exposed unless you get the full face mask or wear air tight goggles. Everything else is at best a spittle catcher. (which I guess is something). We have to pass a breathing test and fit test in order to be certified to use them. If you fail the breathing test (lung capacity) you won't pass. What does that mean... Masks block the flow of air/oxygen getting to you, even though everyone is saying the masks don't do that.
