Don't you see, it's been in our faces for over 50 years now.

The powers that be want the Earth to be one planet, just like any science fiction movie we've seen.

Every planet in Star Wars or Star Trek, teaming with countless amounts of people aimlessly walking or flying around and doing what exactly?

Do any of those beings go to school? You ever seen anyone deal with insurance premiums when in need of a space hospital? How does everyone generate an income when half the people in the galaxy are doing illegal sh*t or work for some form of government? Universal Basic Income perhaps?

So is that going to be the same fate of the Earth, especially when introduced to the collective of the Universe?

That is, if you believe in science fiction and that we aren't just living on a flat earth simulation.
