China is stocking up food for WWIII.

They paid Biden to keep his mouth shut.

They stacked up the container ships to help create the illusion.

If this were real, those container ships would divert to another port that is begging for their business, like Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Mobile.
 Quoting: Justme C'est Moi

A huge percent of China's pigs died over the past few years, beginning right before Covid.

Pork was a staple of the Chinese diet.

I know China was importing American's pork supply through a major meat company that China purchased here.

“The estimates point to the extent of the disease’s resurgence in the first quarter of 2021 after more than a year of declining outbreaks, heralding a significant setback to China’s efforts to replenish its hog herds after African swine fever reached the country in August 2018 and wiped out 50% of the country’s pigs within a year.”

What the hell is going on?

Are they redirecting our food supply somewhere else?

Is it really a worker shortage?

Is it a distribution issue?

Is this intentional?

Why is the price of what IS available pretty much double what it was 2 years ago?

I feel like somebody is fucking with us....

I think you're right, they are playing Hunger Games. Remember when they price gouged gasoline? Now they're doing it with food.
At our local Krogers the past couple of weeks, Ive seen police there because people have been shop lifting food. One was a college student ( i live in a college town). I mean people are going to start doing this more and more. I spent 80 dollars and got two bags of food. Time to smash and grab.

I live in the middle of nowhere way up north in the US and the only thing I haven’t been able to get is mango puree and young thai coconuts. I’m not seeing shortages of anything else either but I also don’t shop at large grocery stores.

I see all the videos and photos of people in the USA that show shortages, and I'm really confused.

I live in a city that is right near the American border.

We have absolutely no shortages here. Nothing. Never did.

But the city across the border (literally just a 30 min drive) has major shortages.

How the hell does that make any sense at all?

This doesn't make sense. I've been traveling in the US for the last 3 months, it's everywhere. Everyone I talk to in states from Oregon to Florida is puzzled and frustrated. Business owners can't find reliable help, and supplies are short.
 Quoting: Buck Fiden

Yes, it is tough to find good, hard working younger workers nowadays. I worked over 40 years in the appliance repair business. Maybe called out sick 10 times. It is just not in my DNA to not show up for work. Yet, everybody I know that runs or has a business cannot believe how little respect younger kids have for their job these days.

I believe it has to do with self respect more then anything else. If a person doesn't love and respect themselves, then it is impossible do the same to others. I do believe this started with a liberal ideology in the colleges. Over the last 50 years, it has systematically filtered down to high school and now even middle school and below.

Now we have multiple generations of people that have been exposed/brainwashed to every oddball idea out there. This has led to a large amount of people in this country to be in a consciousness of want or a victim mentality. We have lost our sense of moral and ethical direction.

Maybe we need to go through very difficult times(a depression) the likes of that have not been seen since the late 1920's and 30"s.....So people understand that this fantasy of having everything we want coming on a platter isn't reality. That you really don't have anything of value until you work for it......and with that, we get our collective self worth back......

Intentional shortages to make up for lost biz. Greed pure and simple. Wealthy gotta wealth.

Either this or an alternative I dont even want to fathom.

People have to think of what the supply chain was like over 90 years ago. That's when America was full of dusty little burgs, yet main street managed to have X numbers of stores, including markets.

Going back even further, think of how the ancient Egyptians built those huge structures known as pyramids.

Even without today's veneer of high tech, the internet, iphones, Amazon and modern conveniences in general, people were able to do A, B and C decades ago.

I haven’t been able to get my running/walking shoes for 4 months now. Hoka one one have been on back order. At first they said the factory had been shut because of COVID and now they say they are sitting at harbor waiting to unload. Momma needs new shoes! May need to get another type in the mean time!

You don't think farms having to dump out all their milk because there were not enough containers to put it in does not have any ramifications down the road? Or farmers being paid to plow their fields over instead of harvesting? Or a fake pandemic making people stay home from work for no reason?

Basically it's an intimidation tactic - remember Rham Emanuel saying "never let a good crisis go to waste ?"
The left has employed it here.
Demand all truckers be vaxed, demand all store workers be vaxed knowing they will not comply.
Reduce the workforce in the critical areas of transportation and grocery service and now the left can act as "saviors" to fix the problem they created so they can save it and look good !

It is quite simple actually.

The global economy can not be shut down and essentially closed, without completely destroying the complex interactions that had developed over centuries.

What was once balanced, is now massive shortages in some areas, excesses in others, and not soon to be rectified.

Thanks Donny!

I think that they have diverted our supplies to other countries. The car part shortages will be bad. Walmart ran out of castrol synthetic oil. Tires are also going to be seeing a price increase. I have stopped delivery driving for this reason.

If that was the case then why dont we have shortages here?

More than half of all the products on Canadian shelves are made or packaged in America.

There has been shortage of any product of any kind here.

So that theory clearly isnt it.

You watched the Democrats shut down everything at the drop of a dime.
You watched them destroy cities and burn them to the ground.
You watched looting and lawlessness.
In short, you watched an intentional destruction taking place all supported and pushed forward by Democrats.

You watched them require workers to (vax) comply or be fired.
You watched them put excessive burdens on the workers and the companies they work for.

..............and you have to ask who is responsible and is it intentional? Seriously?

There is NO INFLATION - There is MASSIVE DEMAND but the democrats are destroying the workers and companies that supply us. That is creating shortages.

With the proper (usual) work force in place and Democrats getting out of the way - the demand / supply would balance out again and POOF - no more (Democrat created) "inflation"

Re: Seriously though, what's with the shortages that have been lasting for years now?
It's going to get worse:

china is closing it's ports

And, as we have also discussed in recent weeks, one place where this growth slowdown is emerging – besides the upcoming deterioration in US consumption where spending is now being funded to record rates by credit cards before it encounters a troubling air pocket – is China and its “covid-zero” policy in general, and its covid-locked down ports in particular.

But what until recently was a minority view confined to our modest website, has since expanded and as Bloomberg writes overnight, the effects of restrictions in China as the country maintains its Covid-zero policy “are starting to hit supply chains in the region.” As a result of the slow movement of goods through some of the country’s busiest and most important ports means shippers are now diverting to Shanghai, causing the types of knock-on delays at the world’s biggest container port that led to massive congestion bottlnecks last summer that eventually translated into a record number of container ships waiting off the coast of California, a glut that hasn’t been cleared to this day.

Less than 50%
