My sister in law went for mammograms every year. Then finally was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now she’s on some meds for FIVE years. I’m not sure what to think except she thought getting mammograms every year was the right thing to do. And I don’t understand why she has to be on meds for five years. They cut the cancerous tissue out, I thought that was the solution.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79248910 One of the many reasons I am skeptical that I have not mentioned yet: My mother had yearly mammos and her breast cancer never showed up on the mamos. She was diagnosed at Stage 4 because her hip hurt and it turned out it had been metasticizing throughout her body for years, docs said. It was everywhere at diagnosis and chemo only bought her a year and a half of sickness and misery. They said it was a rare case where the mamo didn't pick up on it because it was too small. So...they tell me I need more frequent mamos due to my mother. Ridiculous. They failed her but use it as an example of why I should keep radiating my own breasts??? I miss her every day. She was just 52. Quoting: BarbaricYawpSounder
