It's the sun, but it's not the sun. It's the geomagnetic fields around the planet that protect us from the sun that is causing this.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74923009 That actually sounds plausible Geomagnetic fields may be screwed up sure. Yet take them completely away and the Sun should still be yellow orange. It's a yellow dwarf star. And will eventually become a red giant. So if anything the sun should be growing more red not white. Unless of course that is part of it's transitional stage.
