The Cook county ordinance applies to all restaurants, bars or where food and drink are served (unless you are doing carry out). So, the restaurant in Ikea in Schaumburg has a sit down area. So they have to comply.

But you have to define the logic in this. It’s to supposedly stop people from transmitting the virus to each other right? So they try to make the point that places of food and bars are enclosed so people are close together and need the “vaccine”.

But the IKEA restaurant is in an open space. What’s the difference between shoppers and people sitting and eating? Don’t you think people shopping and walking into each other poses more of a risk of transmittance than people sitting in chairs at tables apart from one another?

Don’t just recite the rules, we know what they are. Try to make sense of them.

I am not advocating vaccines or masks in this post. But I do live in Cook County IL so I am trying to clarify the rational of our politicians and health dept officials. This does not mean I support it.

Masks are a HUGE thing in Chicagoland. When you eat and drink you need to remove your mask. The areas where ppl sit down to eat are the areas where the vax proof is (allegedly) required. (Whether or not they actually CHECK is another thing. And most people checking would not be able to spot a fake so the whole damn thing is REALLY pointless).

Alot of dining areas in businesses are closed right now so that businesses dont have to deal with all the BS. Grocery stores with indoor cafes close off the seating areas and all food is to go. Alot of smaller restaurants have switched back to carryout carside or delivery only.

But if the vaxxed are carrying much larger viral loads than unvaxxed and sitting atound Ikea BREATHING in groups then I say the coronavirus cloud in that area is most likely contaminating the whole damn store. If you are so worried about catching an omicron cold, stay the eff out of Ikea. And move to a red state!
