People at the bars my dad frequented were always angry.

I decided drink wasn’t for me at 12 when a drunk (at a bar my dad dragged me to) told me , “he wouldn’t pay a quarter to see a monkey fuck a football up a telephone pole”.

The old farmers- truckers- metal workers- and veterans at the local “spot”

Don’t have to say a thing

My friend went to cub scouts with them

One guy - his father was the scoutmaster

The farmers ... each has over a THOUSAND ACRES and has done nothing else

Their haulers - their mechanics- their families come into the restaurant

The bartenders are a farming family - veterans all

Nobody is happy - grumpy faces

I try to cheer them up with jokes and smiles

It’s getting harder and harder

It’s not “go time” ... people just sitting tight for now -

A local trucker was murdered with a vent recently

We didn’t go to the funeral

The son-in-law doesn’t believe in “conspiracies”

Once it dawns on any of them that our govt is trying to kill them
