They had a Sun God in Japan, Saraswati or so.

Different region but I think also fascinating: I saw one of the eldest maps of Africa once (something with P)
It had a giant reptile on it in the South West, coast region.

Another map of the land shaped lke a giant reptile head where the muzz refer to as their God.
Totally weird stuphs.

Welcome, have fun and feel free to share some of what you are looking at. I have gone thru few and am amazed at all the pictures they drew around the map. One was a big face blowing, I am assuming it was demonstrate wind direction.. but who knows.. and some of the fish they drew do not look like any fish I have seen.

There's a lot hidden in history.
I'm so glad the Tartaria Maps showed up, as it sorta painted in some gaps.
I wonder where the Inca's and Maya's fit in.

Oh he was a ghost town hunter and author. He had all these trips on his site and he would give the co-ordinates of unknown places and the coordinates where to turn because it was always way far from civilization with no road signs.

He would label the trips as easy/walking/hiking, 1 jeep for 2 wheel drive, 2 jeeps for 4 wheel drive & so on.

We found a lot of old mines, old ruins of buildings, all kinds of old roads by following his instructions & also veering off on our own.

But we're getting old now and those trips, along with the Atlas Gazette for finding old roads that don't exist anymore are pretty much done.

I think it was about 1972 and my mom and I were on a road trip and visiting a friend in Cortez, CO. They took us up a mountain on an old 4 wheel drive only road to a old ghost town. There was still furniture and belongings from long ago left behind. Too cool!

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear."
