I've had similar things happen. They were trying to make "adjustments" to me several times. Sometimes it was consensual, such as when a group of presumably extraterrestrial entities worked on "unpacking" my junk DNA. Got a substantial boost in my abilities afterwards. Other times I've managed to get up off the operating table and cause them severe distress. They we like, "is he supposed to be able to do that?" They never bothered to chase me after that, it was just like, "meh, whatever".

But yes, the pacification field is quite unsettling because it's not at all an unpleasant feeling. Almost like being on opiates. You have to fight it with pure willpower, not anger or aggression, as those emotions become muted under the influence of the field.
