mine is 87 and specified DNR years ago. moving is
a constant effort for her. she sleeps a lot.

Some of the extensive procedures they “can do” are not meant to improve the patient ... just prolong the misery and pain.

However you see it OP - it is well... longer life is not always the goal

My mother always faught for me 100 percent. To lose her will be heartbreaking.

We travel on a train together.
Some get off on stops before us.

That doesn't diminish the things we can learn from each other while en route.

I will just pass along my condolences. I lost my mother a decade ago and it hurt like hell. If her situation is terminal you made the right choice and your mother would thank you.

If you can...put on her favorite music and go be with her. Spiritual moments happen before during and after death. You may see bright lights, angels, or feel a sense of someone else in the room with you. It is hard to let go, but you know in your heart, you did the right thing. Tell your mom you love her. She already knows.

Sorry the waiting is hard. If this was her wish, it is the correct one. Don't let them dehydrate her though. It is terrible to die of thirst.
