Re: Brit's and tea connoisseurs, please spill the tea on tea taste and briskness :)
Brands?

Harney and Son's has a good variety of loose leaf black and flavors are delightful. I've never stayed up later in my life and woken up after less sleep with so much energy. I don't recommend drinking after 12 noon, I do need recommendations for an afternoon tea, now that I understand wtf this means. Harney and Son's Florence flavor tastes like Chocolate hazelnut with cream and sugar.

Numi brand is nice too, I throughly enjoy the white tea however the caffeine content, even though white tea is less caffeinated, isn't helping me go to bed at a decent hour. Numi, white rose with cream and sugar taste like a rose flavored Turkish delight.

I was very disappointed with the English breakfast, maybe I should try a loose leaf?

Fuck tea bags, yey or ney?

I say fuck tea bags.

No herbal recommendations please, those are for the unrefined taste buds. Unless it's loose.

Here is my collection, more on the way.

OP, the only thing you have shown in your picture is garbage. Maybe, something you might want to give to someone you don't want to stay long at your house.

If you want real tea, find yourself a Chinese tea store. Go there and taste the different teas for yourself.

Numi white tea? Don't make me laugh. Decent white tea, palatable, is close to $400 a pound. The best white teas run upwards to $4-6000 a pound. The higher up the mountain, the greater the cost.

I would look for a tea shop selling tea from Taiwan. You can find high quaility teas in Chinese tea shops, but the Taiwanese tend to speak more English.

If you go in any of these tea shops wanting tea in a bag, all they will do is point you to their trash section.

If you have no where to go, try here,
[link to www.tenren.com (secure)]

You want something which has flavor, try this,
[link to www.tenren.com (secure)]
Even this tea is better than anything you have in your picture. Try this before you dig into your pocket for expensive tea.
[link to www.amazon.com (secure)]

Then, you need to learn how to drink tea and you will be able to sleep. Right temperature of the water, how many infusions, etc. Unfortunately, most of the books you will find on tea are trash. Go out and tea taste in Chinese tea shops, there you will learn.

Tea does not contain caffine. Caffine is just a generic word. Tea contains theine. Caffine from coffee stays in your system 2-3hrs, theine from tea stays in your system 6-8hrs. Different type of oxyadated phenyls.

Thank you AC! I'm going to have to start with amazon but my ultimate purchase will be the peral jasmine.

I have never seen a Chinese tea shop but I've had the best Jasmine tea from a Chinese restaurant I asked what kind it was they either didn't understand or didn't want to tell me. I will search my heart out for a Chinese tea shop and will travel to it if I have to.

I love you AC, can you send your ex husband my way?

teabags do not affect the taste of tea. I know because ive tried both.

For tea to mash correctly you must place it in the microwave for 15 seconds AFTER you pour the boiling water onto it in the mug.

You then add full organic milk and honey.

Re: Brit's and tea connoisseurs, please spill the tea on tea taste and briskness :)
I love tea and have been a bit of a connoisseur for years.
The first thing I tell people that ask such questions is DON’T make tea with milk or sugar or both, you’re missing the whole point of tea.
When you make tea without milk / sugar it should be made much weaker than you would using milk or sugar or both, the tea should be translucent, if it’s not its way to strong. So if using a t-bag it should only be in the hot water no more than 10 seconds and that’s too long for some verities.
A very healthy alternative to a cup of coffee in the morning is green tea with half a spoon of "real cinnamon" from Sri Lanka. This will make you much more alert and awake than coffee and it’s very good for you.
Only use Sri Lanka Cinnamon (Real Cinnamon) as all other Cinnamon which all super markets sell contains Coumarin which can damage your liver, promote cancer development and impair cognitive development. Real Cinnamon does have trace amounts of Coumarin but over 2,000 times less than that of the super markets fake Cinnamon.
Green Tea with half a t-spoon of “Real Cinnamon”

Total calories = 6 per cup (1 full t-spoon of Cinnamon added)

Real Cinnamon
1. It has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties
2. Contains antioxidants with anti-inflammatory effects
3. Its prebiotic properties may improve gut health
4. Reduces blood pressure
5. Lowers blood sugar and risk of type 2 diabetes
6. Relieves digestive discomfort

Green Tea
1. Contains healthy bioactive compounds
2. Improve brain function
3. Increases fat burning
4. Antioxidants lower the risk of some cancers
5. Help protect the brain from aging
6. Reduce bad breath
7. Help prevent type 2 diaabetes
8. Help prevent cardiovascular disease

Don’t drink it before bed, you won’t sleep.

I like mighty leaf brand tea, their English breakfast is great, just don’t drink on an empty stomach!!

Also tazo Zen is my favorite late day tea. Spearmint, green tea and a small amount of caffeine.

I cold brew my tea.

I use Ceylon and Assam loose leaf as a base and I'm experimenting with different combinations.

I buy Yorkshire teabags, am an occasional tea drinker though so cannot offer any expert advice

But , when I was a kid and used to visit my great grandmother there was always a fresh pot of tea made with loose tea, she would stand it on the hearth so it stayed warm

Her little house had no hot water or inside toilet, was a typical 2 up-2 down cottage with only a fireplace for warmth

No fridge either just a pantry with a marble shelf

But, that tea......was like blinking nectar !!

Cheap, mass-market brand black tea is hideous.

I can taste the aluminum in some of them.

The only black tea in a bag I can drink is Barry's. Irish breakfast and English breakfast have the real tea taste.

I have some organic loose leaf black English breakfast which is decent. I will check out some of the loose leaf brands recommended.

The tai'chi spins, the great wheel both go round and round where they stop nobody knows.

The fires of the kali yuga burn brigher than ever. A warm campfire, not too close to gt burnt, do not leave the tea water on the fire too long, just long enough to heat the tea and move closer to the fire as the flames turn into hot coals. The tea is not too strong and not too weak.

The five elements play in the ten directions.

And Guayaki in cans.

Also HopTea is great.

I also like yaupon a lot. I found this yaupon matcha and it is great. I also found a good yerba mate matcha brand.

i mean its kinda important because it goes together in with the packaging the teabag goes into. Whatever I'm sensitive to those kind of things.

But yeah Pukka has "natural tea bags"...
