Re: Anyone shopped for a new car lately?
I'm not a mechanic, but maybe one of you could tell me if it would be possible to take a 2004 car, strip off all the crap thats been put on the engine for smog control, etc, put a carb on it and simplify the engine so theres none of that modern stuff to break. I think most cars today stop running because the computer chips, fuel injection systems etc, etc, break. Why not just eliminate all that and go back to simple engines. Would that be possible with a modern car?

I can only hope that my 2011 suv with 144,000 miles, every warning light is on as the catalytic converter is shot, with a dented back bumper to a hit and run will make it another few years. I can't afford to fix anything on it now.

I'm not about to buy a car that costs more than the house I grew up in.

As soon as you drive it off the lot, you've already lost about $5,000 of value

Obummski generation dumfucks in the video, so smart that she doesn't want someone else's 100k mile car.

Truly the garbage of America in that video.

I have two Suburbans, both v8 one is a 1776 Geroge Washington Scottsdale model and the other is a 1990 Thomas Jefferson 4x4 with lift kit.

One does have electronics, the 1990 but the other one will be running my buddies to the battle while all you lames are dead and gone, you always were useless and your values suck/.

I talk to another dude from the old days he was born in 1962.

"Doesn't it seem strange that all these tv channels fetishize cars that we are legally never going to be able to build, again?"

"Why did they ever stop building the 1968 Chevy Camaro, for example, it could easily sell today, and be made fucking plastic fender fucking plastic engine, but they could keep the styling. Like they did with the VW bug. Peoplelove the bug."

"Yeah, fucking 100k for an RV camper van. You know why started camper van? FAHRFERGNUGHEN DADDY THATS WHO!"

Wouldn't even consider buying a new car, especially after the "kill switch in every new car" takes effect. In fact, I'd be happier with a really old one that was actually mechanical.
More deplorable all the time.

Ford scrapped something like 30,000 2021 trucks just in Louisville in the last part of the year alone, (it’s hard to find an exact number. This fact harms Democrat narratives so it is buried), because of a shortage of pollution control system chips.

Trump was in the process of suspending the requirement, but the Obamunists kept it. The more chaos they can create, the more powerful and rich they become.

My neighbor scoffed at my two used cars with 220,000 miles each. But soon you can't find any low mileage car at any price.

Just bought a 2022 last week. Had to put a $1,000 deposit down a MONTH ago to get “put on a list” for it.

When it came in, they did NOT want to negotiate on full sticker. I got it down only $500 below full sticker because they wanted my 2020 trade with only 9,900 miles.

But yeah…. I’m paying out the ass for this 2022.

True enough, especially when newish used popular models are selling over sticker.
Nowadays buying used is risky and repairs are expensive.
I could probably sell mine for much more than I paid.
