My God - do you see what people will pay for a jeep these days!!!! I feel so bad for younger people. |

We have 4 vehicles between the 2 of us - a jeep for fun - a dodge van for family, long trips - a pickup truck (cause everybody needs a pickup truck) - and a beater Ford Exploder so you can take it anywhere in the woods and not worry about scratches and your drunk buddy backing into it! He is the enemy of evil, they hate men like him who have good values and who value good working fixable trucks. I saw a dude in my town driving a model a pickup, good man there. |

The thing talked to me, though, and drove me nuts. You stop to get gas, "Your door is open, your door is open..." err well my 2002 doesn't try to 'talk' to me it just doesn't everything else really really well. quick and comfortable and PAID FOR. Mine handled really well, which was important, because it was 2-toned brown/tan and I swear it was invisible. People pulled out in front of me all the time - just didn't see me. As much as I loved it (aside from the talking), I got rid of it and switched to a red car. LOL! |

Younger people and older people alike compliment the car all the time. It's actually quite strange imo because I call it the grandma grocery hauler. It is a very demanding red though. I fucking love it. Super reliable, very comfortable, everything is nice asf quality. A little squeaky interior with its age but I've had a ton of fun working on it. Basically 150,000 miles on the thing. It's got a lot of life left in it. Just replaced hood with one from a junkyard that was the same color. It was far cheaper to do this than to get new paint. Also changed the upholstery. That was... Fun lol I also got the roof rack rails at the same time and really enjoy the look and utilitarian aspect of them. Those were criminally easy to put on. Every little thing I've done is apparent. It feels amazing. Never felt changed suspension parts respond like this before! I've always had a CHEVY haha Got the Bilstein shocks and made the new struts (kept og coilsprings) and drove it close to 3000 miles. The cruise control was a lot of fun. Felt so damn good. There's been extremely bumpy roads I've driven regularly that no longer sound or feel jarring anymore. I look over my car all the time and think of what it could be, but I'm perfectly happy with what it IS. Why do I need 500 HP or a mall crawler with 9 or less miles to the gallon when gas is $4? I enjoy the 180 HP, the excellent leather, heated seats and mirrors, sun roof, Bluetooth stereo that sounds great, decent 26 to 38 mpg (got that from doing predominantly descending drives through the mountains, all brakes, low gear, almost no acceleration needed). I need to fix the hose to the back wiper as I hit a dip really hard before replacing suspension and cracked it. Needs a new windshield as mine was cracked badly while highway driving. That has been the most inflation I've ever witnessed. They were 270 about a year ago. I'm now looking at $400. For a windscreen. But yeah, why would I need a new car? I don't get it truly... Everybody knows they're just shit anymore. I may get an older Tacoma in the next few years if I can find a great deal. I love those trucks when they're decked out. That would be the utilitarian toy and the Volvo is for long drives. Tl;Dr :memorybanner: |
