One of my favorite movies was called safe house, the one with patrick Stewart. he would set up his bed each night and sleep in his walk in wardrobe.

Because we all know it is illegal for anyone but cops to yell, "police department, search warrant." And criminals would never do that because they don't want to break the law.

The major problem here is that, and I'm being delicate, but people who "suck cop" refuse to notice that the right to self-defense doesn't go away because someone yells "Police!"

Criminals do that and it's a known thing.

If you aren't a criminal, then someone calling out about a warrant is a home invader. You have no duty to risk your life or not defend yourself if you are innocent.

This HOLDS UP IN COURT, as self-defense, as long as you aren't a criminal. Not so much if you are one.

The muzzle flash came from outside, so was the police shooting first, which, yes, got the others to shoot. The man inside wasn't even out of bed, clearly waking up to the incoherent yelling. (Only one person should yell at a time, with consistent instructions.)

Still, the police screwed up here.

The only way they will learn is for this to really cost them. It's harsh, but a gang murder of a sleeping man? Life in prison for all involved.

Nothing else will get their attention.

Any thug can say "police department" as they kick down the door. That doesn't prove a thing.
