Texas Woman in Walmart Tries to Buy Child for $500,000 | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 81974011 United States 01/26/2022 03:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Children do not go for that much. The woman who did the paperwork to make me legal in the US got a nice car out of the deal and I'm fairly certain that she was overpaid. Quoting: TlvmmCpoft A car is not equal to half a million. It wasn't a gold-covered Benz. Whatever went on in that Walmart was insanity, distraction, public cake, or all of the above. Could be setting up the mother in order to obtain her child through "legal means". The bail was unbelievably low and the case will be quietly dismissed because the child buyer was working undercover. |

Quoting: LJSmith When I was working in DC as a DOJ Accountant, a crazy, clearly strung out bitch tried to sell me her child for $20. The child was about 3 years old. I was only across the street from the office when this happened. I was worried, for obvious reasons, gave the nutter $20, and promptly took the baby back to our office building. Security called DCPD. They came, brought in Protective Services, and took the little one. The police told me that had I not gotten the child, only God knows what would have happened to her. They told me that junkies trying to sell children was not unusual at all, and the kids often end up molested, or worse. I really hate some humans. Legally you entered in to a conspiracy involving trafficking of children. You could have been being set up. If your story is accurate, calling authorities probably would absolve you of guilt, but you can never be sure. You paid a person for a child, that the way it looks on the indictment. Remember the old adage no good deed goes unpunished. It could have been a sting operation. One thing I have learned is not to try to help children in this kind of situation directly, don't take them anywhere for any reason. In my case, I am a lifetime mandatory reporter. If I had allowed her to walk off with a child she was trying to sell, I could have landed in jail very fast. Especially if something awful had happened to the child. I get what you are saying, but in my case, who I worked for, the position I held, I could not have legally walked away, and she was not going to part with that child unless she saw a twenty. I was also within 50 feet of the federal agents (our security were federal agents), who called DCPD when I came back in. Ive heard of these stories here in Texas where strung out parents sell their children for a fix, but most of them are pimping them. The kids often die or disappear, much more often than you hear about in the news. Poor children. There are plenty of people who care about every child and plenty more that dont care about their own. |

Those kinds of prices you would see at Whole Foods or Central Market. But not Walmart. Quoting: glp-smilies The "going rate" for a blonde haired blue eyed child is around 10-20 grand. If you ask me this just sounds like someone trying to set up the child's parents to snatch him that way. I hadn't considered that. That sounds plausible. Winter is Coming. |

I ran amok when I was a kid in the sixties, and most adults ignored me. Recently, when I was shopping in a Menards, I had my five year old nephew with me, and I let him run off and look around. Eventually, people saw me with him and they were saying they were all upset about seeing him alone. Nothing like it when I was a kid. So it's predators everywhere now. 230 here, but 0 there. |
