I don't think they have a choice in the matter. Half of Germany was occupied by Russia until 1989 too....

They're going to get roped in regardless, certainly as one of the losers of WW2 who are still answerable to the US Military and NATO like Japan is.

I don't have any expectations of Germany at all, and they know all of Putin's old gag since they worked together right up until Operation Barbarossa.

The grave sin the United States committed during WW2 was not to destroy the evil Nazi Empire but in order to do destroy Nazi Germany, the US massively supported another evil empire which under Stalin killed 50 million of its own white Christian people and not lift a finger to destroy Communism right after the war.
Instead it allowed Russia to occupy half of Germany and all of Eastern Europe.
Your General Patton had plans after Hitler"s death to take the Wehrmacht plus US forces and destroy Communism once and for all.
But WW2 hero Patton was killed in Munich by the US government because of his plans.
