Just thoughts... These Patriots are going to pour into the city, make their way to Parliament Hill which is center downtown, about 2 km north of the 417. These guys are going to pour in and pour in relentlessly and plug up the downtown core. It will be gridlock to the nth degree. These guys will pour in all day Saturday and continue long past darkness, more will come Sunday. There are only 4 or 5 off-ramps to go north into the downtown core. They will plug up, the 417 will be overflown, the 417 will be blocked. Throughout part of Sunday, more rigs, more trucks and cars, more people arrive. How do you put 50 miles of transport trucks et al, fit into a 10 x 15 block Ottawa downtown? How are they going to leave? This is going to get interesting. Likely a vote of no confidence and a snap election since they are already a minority government. I don't really know. A lot of the power lies in the hands of the Governor General (The Crown). O'Toole is already being pressured to resign from the Conservative leadership, so perhaps they expect something. |
