God's teachings will always be uniting, caring, compassionate, uplifting, encouraging, and empowering to inspire us to seek God's love for comfort and guidance.
Careful of any teachings that put fear in us, belittle us, divide us, or make us more confused. Those teachings are not from God, they are from humans who are still under the influence of the ego.
We have everything within us to save ourselves. We have been blessed with free will to freely choose. Will we choose to learn to grow up to become wiser and more mature, or will we choose to continue comfortably dwelling in our old harmful ways even when knowing those ways are not the best for us.

So, you just say that the goal of God is for us to get comfort and guidance? That is very selfish...SO, YOU SERVE YOURSELF THROUGH GOD. In that case, far from being a loving soul, you just are a taker, not a giver. You profess SELF-SERVICE instead of SERVICE-TO-OTHERS.
The highest service-to-others actually is a service to God, through the others!
God's teachings include THE FEAR OF HIM, not of the others, or of anything, TO BETTER STOP THE FEAR OF DEATH that the ego sees as a self-destruction (EGO = FEAR). So, unlike your statement, this fear of God doesn't divide us, belittle us, or make us more confused. It puts us IN HIS HANDS, with faith and humility...to reach the Peace of Mind and the Joy of His Presence.
THE FREE WILL, given by God, doesn't exist to HAVE wisdom and maturity, for all things will be given to us once in our body of light (you will understand what wisdom and maturity really are in your (potential) highest state...of wisdom and maturity), but
TO OBEY HIM OR NOT, that is to say to BE Him!
