The whole story of three kings following the stars to find god isn't a one-off story. It was originally about looking for another incarnation/Avatar of god. This is preserved in the legend of Piast Kolodziej, the name can be translated as "Axis of the Wheel/Cycle of Ages".

At a cosmic Divine level it works differently. A world is not dissolved without trying all the options first and currently there's more to go, but you have a good point, that too was on the table for some time. God has put a condition on that world elimination - if His messenger refuses to do his assigned job then yes this world would be completely gone, and not a dissolution of it but a full blown destruction with everything in it.

But rest assured that there's more to do in this planet, not everything is doomed, generally the people are good-natured, there's impressive level of expertise in moral, ethical, esthetical and generally philosophical fields (though very isolated in academic circles), there's a great deal of technological advancement, even though some of it was stolen / copied from other civilizations, etc. So yes it's worthy fighting for it.

What this world desperately needs now is guidance and a new heathy good Godly direction, which is coming later. Be patient, the first step has already happened, God's man is already here.

It would be extraordinarily divisive to favour one religion over an other. It's actually the Buddhist, Taoists, Muslims and Hindus who resisted the New World Order more than anyone over the last 30 to 50 years. So why side with Christians?
