I rep Wisconsin and I love to shop at locally owned business. Penzey's has a location next to the locally owned Butcher Shop I buy local grass-fed beef at.

I used to stop in Penzey's a few times a year for spices, but no more. I saw the letter when it first went out and it was worse than what is being reported. Owner did not just call Republicans Racist, he said anyone who has ever supported a Republican is a Racist.

Fuck Penzey's Spices.

Two years ago I was on their email list because I have purchased their products, and they are great, but they started this far left propaganda and instead of spending hundreds of dollars on Christmas gifts as I had intended to do, I sent an email to their president and said that alienating 50 percent of the population was a stupid move.

Wow! Well, you can bet they're all vaxx'd to death - their products looked good - maybe there's a republican in the family that inherits the company after they're dead.

Since the summer, I stopped visiting their store close to me in MA. I was convinced they were putting expired/less potent spices out. Since they were quite expensive, I researched where they sourced their spices. You guessed it- many are from China.

I now buy from other companies (which, LOL, usually source from the same places). Not paying 5 bucks for a small jar of their powdered, roasted garlic any longer.

Plus, and this is a big issue for me, the caps on their bottles are total crap! If they just knock against a glass spice jar next to them? Crack! Let alone fall 10" out of a cabinet onto the counter... *shatter*

So fuck them. And we used to buy about $500 of spices from them a year, due to some specialty foods we make for family at certain holidays. Cardamom pods, crystallized ginger, etc... Ugh. Started buying a lot of our baking spices from King Arthur Flour, in Vermont.
