In Lillehammer, the whole thing was sandwiched between an airport and a toxic waste dump. In Vancouver, it was a shipyard for a backdrop. In Lake Placid, the skiers had to ski over abandoned train tracks and through a graveyard. You must be one of those Asian-hating racists for pointing this out, OP. Shame on you. /sarc

Actually I think it would be GREAT if in the US they would put ski slopes IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR CITIES!!

Why should people have to travel 2 to 4 hours out of town just to go skiing on a so-so hill?

Why can't you just drive across town, like you do when you go to ice skating rinks in a city, so as to go skiing?

Seems like a good idea to me actually ... but they do need to add an actual ski hill to that complex.

If there was a market for it, you best believe they would exist. They have an indoor hill in the UAE, for instance. Of course, there are no real hills or snow anywhere near there, so it's kind of their only option. People in most cities prefer some nice scenery and peace and quiet when they go skiing, apparently, and not an urban wasteland full of honking cars.

True, part of the beauty of skiing is riding up that lift high in the tree tops, so peaceful and gorgeous scenery to take in and then down the mountain enjoying it from that pov. Except during spring break, oh boy, look out! Then it's like grand central station and you're just trying to stay alive.

I watched them yesterday at that venue. It's the FreeSki Big Air event.

Then read this today. I'm assuming this is regarding those in that event?

The whole thing is being manipulated to give the Chinese as many advantages as possible. Just look at the shitty place they have all of the athletes staying in & (apparently) they’re not even feeding them all that much. Do you think the Chinese team is stuck with the same conditions?

Chinese cheat at everything else in the world. The Olympics are no exception.

When I say that everything in China is fake, I mean everything from the cities themselves to the way international competitions are run. I mean everything is fake.

China only cares about winning. Honor doesn't have anything to do with winning to China.

My students at the university would cheat if given the slightest opportunity. So I would take away their books and smartphones and give them oral tests via PowerPoint to let them know that I knew that they didn't know the material.

After I made them lose face a few times, many just didn't come to class anymore because they realized they were going to have to actually study and this wasn't a holiday with the Laowei American teacher. I have never seen such a collectively dishonest, cheating culture.

Have to admit, I have a bias after viewing a few videos in China, wish I could unsee the vile evil. All three horrific, and they were all real. Each one was torture (including death to each one) to another living beings and I will just leave it at that.

Can you imagine working so hard that you become the elite of the elite in your sport, just to go compete at that venue for the Olympics? It's just gross. And so sad.

I honestly have not watched one second of it and I refuse to. What a clown show.

I realize I am an adult who probably shouldn't be playing video games, but there is a huge problem with cheating and hacking on those too, by a certain demographic ^^^

I’d like to see some chemical tests done on those medals when they get back home.
