Ya I recently bought a book off of ebay and it go crushed by the mail people, and so I got a refund but the seller basically lost the money on their end so it makes me not want to sell anything myself.

It's not the first time the mail people have ruined things, and I think its often intentional because this book would have taken some effort to damage.

Did that (even included images) and received "partial refund" offer

Even if it said it was brass and you said it wasn't you get your money back.

Well you have to actually send the watch back. eBay will provide shipping label at sellers expense. You can't keep the watch and expect a full refund. C'Mon man.

This is true I sell on eBay never won a case.

There is buyer scam #2 they send back empty boxes and seller can't do anything about it.

Selling on eBay sucks.

I just got a full refund on a nintendo game for one of my grand kids.

Always be nice, state the case clearly, if they balk tell them you'll just go through visa and they can pay the fees and shit get's resolved that day.

My seller was dicking me around for a couple of weeks, when I told him I would just contact visa I got an imediate return label.

Give me the number or you're FOS

That happened to me too - I sell 10 times more than I buy.

partial refund is a offer before it even goes to claims. Your not even I a claim yet. Lot of people will take partial refunds if it's a small issues.

It wasn't a bad offer to you if you happen to like the brass but wasn't worth the price.

If u want your money back keep going with the claim.

You don't have to "talk to eBay on the phone". You just start a return and check "not as described" and the return is automatically okayed within seconds and a return label generated. You send it back and if the seller doesn't refund you eBay will force the refund as long as tracking shows delivered back to seller.

You're making something out of nothing.

Did that - Checked the NAD box and included a picture.
Its a vintage watch so it had wear on the corner exposing brass.

If you didn't instantly get a barcode for a return label or an option to email the return label to yourself then you didn't do it or didn't do it correctly.

I bought an $12,000 Network Analyzer for $4,750 off eBay, it didn't work, so I returned it. Got 100% refund and they paid for shipping both ways. Ebay acts as the escrow company along with Paypal, so the seller doesn't get a cent until you are satisfied with the product.

A while back I bought an electronic musical instrument ($700) and never received it. They scammed me out of the money (think it was Paypal) never got my money back.

I bought something a couple years ago and shipper never sent anything. They never provided a tracking number even.

I brought up the case with ebay politely, stated my case clearly, and ebay maddeningly sided with the seller. Ebay asked for a "receipt" (wtf would they need a receipt when they can see the transaction on their system?!) and I provided a copy of the transaction even though it made no sense.

I appealed, they sided with the seller again and wouldn't explain why when there was obviously no attempt to even ship me anything. I couldn't go to visa or my CC because the item was paid for using my paypal balance.

Oops, just remembered that this was through paypal only, not ebay. In any case, I now only pay with a paypal balance if it's a well-trusted seller

Nope, I have a friend that is a Power Seller and he brags about sending partial refunds all the time.

Power seller here. Initiate the return for not as described and ship it back. Refuse the partial refund if he tries to do that after the return, then eBay will step in on your behalf. Make sure it is returned in the exact condition received, and document with photos. We sell 100’s of items per month with a .50% return rate or better, and always keep our honest customers happy. We make the scammers life hell though :)
