Quoting: Anon 82177708 I've read about a time traveler whose name was Lance Corwin who went to measure Jesus, Jesus was five feet and three and a half inches long .. a man ... built a time machine so he could go back and see Jesus. It worked, and he saw Jesus when Jesus was only twelve years old. Jesus was learning the carpentry trade from his father. Two Roman soldiers came into the shop with a mechanical drawing on papyrus of a device they wanted built by sunrise the next morning. It was a cross to be used in the execution of a rabble-rouser. Jesus and his father built it. They were glad to have the work. And the rabble-rouser was executed on it. .... The time-traveler went back to Bible times to find out one thing in particular: Whether or not Jesus had really died on the cross, or whether he had been taken down while still alive, whether he had really gone on living. The hero had a stethoscope along. ... The time-traveler was the first one up the ladder, dressed in clothes of the period, and he leaned close to Jesus so people couldn't see him use the stethoscope, and he listened. There wasn't a sound inside the emaciated chest cavity. The Son of God was dead as a doornail. So it goes. The time-traveler, whose name was Lance Corwin, also got to measure the length of Jesus, but not to weigh him. Jesus was five feet and three and a half inches long. [link to onlinereadfreenovel.com (secure)] Of course Jesus was dead. Have you ever read a Bible, probably not, because then you knew that Jesus was indeed dead. How can their be a resurrection if Jesus was not dead. The Bible states that Jesus Died on the cross for our sins. And yet people who have never touched a Bible come here to discuss the Bible. |

So it turns out he was likely kind of short & not the 6'5" tall white Jesus everyone imagines Quoting: HolloH Was there, like, a law that people had to conform to average height rules back then? George Washington was 6'4", tall for that era. Tall for this era. Napoleon Bonaparte was reportedly 5'6", a bit on the shorter side, but nothing all that extraordinary. I'm in the tallest 10% of the male population, but that's nothing remarkable. Jesus may have been in the tall 10%, or he may have been in the short 10%, or maybe somewhere in between. I wasn't there. I'm not especially concerned about it. |

Try life as a quadriplegic or blind. Or in prison for life for a crime you did not commit. Or a million other horrible things millions of people have endured. He lived 33 years; basically unencumbered; save for the last 3 hours on a cross. A fucking hay ride of a life compared to most people. Jesus: I came into this world to suffer and die. Me: Big fucking deal; that is what the rest of us are doing. And he was THE ONLY ONE SURE OF HIS FATE; TELLING THE GOOD THIEF "TODAY YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE" NOBODY ELSE CAN MAKE THAT CLAIM! |

[youtube] Judas Iscariot in the book of Mathew had to point out Jesus to the soldiers who came to arrest him which means he looked like the rest of them. Why would God male him look like the Roman occupiers, lol. Don't you think that would have obscured his message if he stuck out like a sore thumb? Even today, on this very thread, we want him to look like us....I'm dure it was the same back then.. the difference is that back then, being 5'5", brown skin and black hair was THEIR NORMAL. BE SMARTER. |

That seems to be actual historical evidence, but not mentioned yet. Quoting: pish good thinking, but the provenance of the shroud does not extend earlier than the Middle Ages The earliest historical records of the Shroud of Turin place it in Lirey, France during the 1350s. A French knight named Geoffroi de Charny allegedly presented it to the dean of the church in Lirey as Jesus’ authentic burial shroud. There’s no record of how de Charny got his hands on the shroud, nor where it was during the 1300 intervening years since Christ’s burial outside Jerusalem. [link to www.history.com (secure)] Nice info but totally not up to date and there has been much more work done as methods of research improve. They have, for instance even been able to retrieve some DNA from the shroud. But you have to look at the recent data, like Janice Bennet's book on the info on the Blood alone. As for time traveler.Biographer Clemans Brentano detailed the visions of the seer regarded as the most perfect one ever exsisting, Anna Catherine Emmerich.(born 1774) I read the massive two volume bio and the four volume Life of Christ. Vol IV, "The Passion of the Christ"(which so impressed Mel Gibson he made the impressive film of the same name, based on it)She would begin to pray and suddenly she was back in time observing events and Brentano would write down all she saw. So accurate was she that later Archeologists would use her descriptions to find long lost sites mentioned in the New Testament. Her visions validated the death of Christ, the shroud and the resurrection. amdg Forgiveness means giving up every hope for a better past, In exchange for a better future. P.S. Ive always had an American Flag, now all of a sudden you gave me a Canada one. ?? Please whoever did this change it back.
