I do agree with your sentiment. . . I call my SO 'Beautiful Sexy'. I never just say, "You're sexy."

'Hot' implies one's lust over another that they would consider sexy. Obviously, that would not take an etymologist to figure out the logic behind my belief.

Conservative or Liberal (often referred to as 'retards') use the word 'hot' and I personally think it is tacky and fleeting. There is no hutzpah behind it. I've known really hardcore conservatives use the word 'hot' quite often.

I have used it as a gauge on how to judge one's intellect: both emotional and intimate and intelligence to a degree.

Only when the word 'hot' is used over and over repeatedly do I begin to think that the person using the word is an utter jackass.

My dear friend, in my opinion, your view is too narrow.

I believe 'hotness' directly sparks one's primitive sexual arousal. It appeals to our base animal instincts for mating and reproduction, and therefore it tends to be considered, perhaps justifiably, an objectification of another person. It need not be strictly visual, for a woman's voice, a particular fragrance, or dare I say taste even, may produce the effect. Because it is a base concept, can be mostly be recognized globally amongst our species. For the most part, most men will agree on the level of hotness a woman possesses. That fact the word "hot" is the label we chose for such objectification, is meaningless. Use it, use a different word, or none at all, will make not one difference, for the base instinct will persist.

Beauty, on the other hand, transcends instinct and appeals to one's mind, spirit and soul. It's less direct than hotness, in that a beautiful woman doesn't immediately influence sexual desire. It's evocative in that she captures and influences our imagination. It begins "skin deep," but grows from there, the same with our other senses (as in hearing only one note of the aria), and it's the ever deepening journey that increases the beauty that we experience. When we reach it's limit is when imagination can no longer overshadow the objective reality of other features. Our journey will go from imagining a life with this person in the present and extend from there into the future and the dream may, along the way, ignite our base instinctive desires as well.

These women in the video can easily be conceited, hateful b!tches, and when the song is done we have the privilege of knowing only their beauty--the few most pleasing facets--as we go about our lives. There is a bottom we don't yet know, whether it be shallow or deep, and the deeper the bottom the more beautiful the woman.

A real man, conservative or no, will experience a woman's hotness, but seek out the depths of her beauty and use the lingering thrill of the journey and his discoveries as his measure of her character and ultimate personal appeal.

However, we cannot seek out another's depths of beauty without exposing our own. That's why many guys want to skip all that. They fear what she'll see in him.

The words have two very different meanings and the term 'beautiful' should stop being used as often as it's used.

Men say this to me all the time and it's annoying after you've heard it for the thousandth time because it no longer has depth.

I live in Florida. I surely know what "hot" is.
