Russia has about 18 years of oil, but it also has trillions of cubic meters of natural gas.

And yes, we can assume some new untapped resources will be discovered in Russia, but in the USA the low hanging fruit is long since GONE

The amount of misinformation and just plain bullshit I. This thread is astounding. I had my own directional business for over 20 years. I’ve drilled horizontal and directional wells wells all over Canada and the US. My social circle and my entire life was centered around this industry. Let’s get a few things straight

1.) under Trump we were a net exporter of oil for the first time in modern history. Brandon simply went back to the exact policies of Obama. Between that and the backstab on Keystone we are no longer. We are buying oil from Russia every month…look it up yourself. Billions worth.

2.). This horseshit that we’re gonna be out of oil and gas in 8-10 years.. complete horseshit. US has been practicing a strategy of not utilizing our reserves in favor of buying from opec. Natural gas? We are not the Saudi Arabia of natural gas, we are 10x Saudi Arabia. We have over 200 years of reserves of natural gas in continental North America.

3.) The market still has not fully recovered from Obama allowing opec to annihilate the US drilling industry by flooding the world with cheap oil for 18 months. There was a massive turnover in the industry, as a DD today makes approx 50% of what I made doing that job 20 years ago. As a result, companies handed out parachutes to all their experienced guys to save money. They hired 27 year managers and engineers just out of school…as they would willing accept what us experienced guys was a massive paycut.
