I think we need more police , but radical reform within civilian law enforcement..

Most of our police are not suitable for the job of civilian law enforcement and need to be replaced, because they have been trained in military tactics such as shoot before thinking and use overpowering force instead of reason and patient negotiation.

I also think the idea that departments create their own use of force policies and that these policies greatly exceed lawful conduct is insane. For instance pointing a gun at a citizen is assault with a deadly weapon except under specific circumstances and a person must be in a situation where lethal force in self defense is ALREADY established. I can't shoot someone and say I thought they had a gun or they had what looked like a gun or they had a gun but made no aggressive offensive move against me and get a no bill.


Another obvious problem is police departments investigating police misconduct internally within their own departments, and the coercive influence police unions have on government.

One of the most NAUSEATING catch phrases I have heard is "officer safety", and how it is used to excuse unconstitutional overreach in the courts and insane, aggressive, and dangerous behavior among law enforcement..

A person who takes a job as a peace officer must accept risk to his own life as a necessity and a natural result of being paid to enforce the law, and must ALWAYS put the welfare of the civilian population above his own.

This shoot first and ask questions later is not acceptable in a free country, nor is assuming guilt. ALL SUSPECTS ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVED AND FOUND GUILTY BY A JURY OF THEIR PEERS. A dead man cannot explain his actions.

The idea that a police officer can shoot an American citizen said and just bleat "he had a gun" is insane, because having a gun is not an unlawful act in most cases.

The BLM phenomenon came about as a legitimate resistance to police criminality. "Black Lives Matter" is a protest slogan like "stop the war" was during the Vietnam war, no one owned the slogan and those who claimed to be BLM organizers were all grifters looking for an easy buck.


The fact is it wasn't the normal protestors doing the violence and arson, it was mostly white Shrewish antifa terrorists who infiltrated and took over the protests with the intent of vilifying the protestors and getting support for them from mainly conservative whites.

That's why the police didn't try to stop them, they were working together. If you didn't figure that out when they tried to nail Rittenhouse to a cross, you're pretty lame in the head.

True, many people did take advantaged of the protests to loot goods from stores . 7 of 10 of those looters were white , BTW. This happens in ANY situation where law enforcement is overpowered by protests.

Answer: A police officer has no right of command over any American citizen except under very specific circumstances.


"Perceiving" a "threat" "officer safety" is not one of them.

HOWEVER, if a police officer tries to disarm you absent any criminal behavior and you refuse, and he shoots you, he will get a paid vacation and you're just dead.
