They are also out of control, acting like broken programs in the operating system of the universe. They will not listen to reason or love, even from their own father. If they continue on the path they are on, the result will be stagnation - a dead universe without the potential to sustain the light of life, which the archons themselves feed on. They are going to drive themselves to extinction, which Yaldabaoth does not want. There's an important player in the game right now named Sabaoth - an aspect of the demiurge which inherited the copy of the aeon epinoia (afterthought/self reflection).
