Quoting: Trashcanman2 Maybe she wouldn't forcibly inject me if ordered to. Thank you, ma'am. I can't put a number on it, but that officer literally saved 100+ lives with her action. Those runners were caught in a death trap between being creamed by the car or jumping to their deaths. How big are your balz? Mine are super shriveled compared to that female officer's set. Anonymous Coward User ID: 80081035 United States 03/08/2022 06:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Tampa Bay hosts a 10K run over the Sunshine Skyway bridge every year. This year's race happened on Sunday morning. A drunk driver drove through the detour set up to redirect traffic off the Interstate which the bridge is a part of and headed right for the runners participating in the race. Quoting: Sal Monella The last line of defense between the drunk driver and the runners was the Florida Highway Patrol. One FHP decided to risk her life by purposely crashing her SUV into the wrong way driver, thus saving countless lives of the defenseless runners. It's not like you can just jump off the road from this bridge. It's one of the country's most popular suicide spots because it is so high above the water. The story below: [link to www.fox13news.com (secure)] [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] I used to drive over that bridge every day for work (the new one). The old one was demolished and replaced after a tanker took out some of the concrete pillars and collapsed several sections of the bridge in 1980. It was a very foggy morning and the tanker couldn't see the bridge structures. Drove right into one. VERY horrible scene of cars who had no idea the sections were missing and drove right off the bridge down into the water to their death. Well, it was replaced, and is much higher than the old one was (and - I presume stronger?). So, one morning I was on my way to work and there were ambulances racing up the bridge....I got to the top and there was a cop, his car parked next to an abandoned car. He was looking over the railing.... Sure enough, someone had jumped in!!! Lucky for that person, they "only" broke their legs. AND there was a fishing boat nearby and were able to get to them and pull them out. Sorry, can't remember if it was a man or woman jumper. I'm sure they spent some considerable time in a place with padded walls.... |

When it happened to me, I found myself standing on the dashboard before the car came to a stop. Somehow I had slid out of my seat without realizing it, as I was across the whole of the car's interior. And all I did was rear-end a dump truck, that I didn't realize had stopped. Good thing I was only going 50 MPH, or I might have been injured. Oh, my car is too old to have a dash cam. “Queen Sarah, save us from the Black Dog King!” - from the play, Dissocia [link to tasaonline.org.au (secure)] "Never be anyone's French poodle." - Mr Hamilton |

I saw the room from above for a few seconds then I woke up the next day. Broken back, pelvis, compound fracture of all three bones in my arm, punctured lung, ruptured kidney. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79857408 Jeebus, that obliterated the vehicle..... No living through that. Black ice can be a killer...heh, I've danced with it before. Once you hit it, no control, so very scary. Nobody was hurt though. No crash, but still scary. My client was screaming, and then started crying....lawdy, what a mess. The correct way to do it is to punish the drunken loser biatch....even had a who cares attitude in court. So, only 1 dumbfuck... the drunk driver maybe with a tad bit more sense knocked into her. And, no license/car and possible long term license loss, jail time..... Florida can be hard on drunks. 1 hero--- the police officer And, rest of society(runners) didn't even know what happened until the thread was started. This is how it is supposed to be done. Punish the perp and not society. |
