It was quickly withdrawn from sale before it even reached stores and, if you can find a copy, fetches upwards of four figures on eBay. |

They said they canceled the release because they thought it showed Macchio as 'too violent' and wanted him to keep his wholesome image so they could release Karate Kid II. |

But there is a huge swelling of evidence that not only is Ralph Macchio underrated, but his style was the perfect and maybe only style of martial arts that would have let him beat Bruce Lee. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76833508 It isn't widely known but Macchio had beaten many top fighters in exhibition style amateur matches during the late 80s to the late 90s. There were even rumors back then that one widely known martial artist movie star of the era paid Macchio to keep quiet about his win over him. Hint: he was from Brussels. They say Seagal was approached about an exhibition against Macchio in 1991 for a local tournament but Seagal wanted know parts of it. Chuck Norris was asked about Macchio and he said 'Ralph is the best kept secret in the sport'. It's too bad we never got to see Ralph Macchio take on Bruce Lee. We can only imagine the outcome. Pat Morita taught him everything he knows |

I saw a copy of the 2 Disc Special Edition on eBay back in around 2004. I couldn't understand why the auction was over $100. I don't know how much it sold for in the end but it's worth 1,000s now. Wish I'd known just how rare it is. |

Sorry but this is so ridiculous it's sad. Ralph Macchio is/was an actor and you are sorely underestimating Bruce Lee, I have to say. It is obvious you have no clue. As for the martial artist from Brussels, it is true he came from ballet (yes, he started out as a ballet dancer AFAIK) and he was an actor, but this doesn't mean his karate was faked. Everything can be staged in a movie, you know... and you are too often mentioning "rumors" and "they say" for my taste. You think your "rumors" should impress GLP? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79034751 Romania 03/15/2022 07:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You are mistaken. Bruce Lee was also a true martial artist. He had numerous street fights before starting with Kung Fu. His teacher was the famous Yip Man. And you might want to inform yourself about the incredible exercise regimen Bruce Lee put himself through daily. You have no clue. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 82479060 Germany 03/15/2022 07:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Macchio is an actor, his MA skills are nothing to write home about and he'd probably be the first to admit that. Seagal is fake as fuck, most actors are - as they are...well, actors. Van Damme is for real, Chuck Norris too. The best martial artists are not seen in movies and they won't brag much about their skills and knowledge either. |

The truth is this: Macchio's martial artistry was so devastating and innovative, the US military took control of the video and began using it to train special forces. All black ops teams MUST now be proficient in Fist of Ralph before they are allowed AMYWHERE NEAR an operations theatre. |
