A Nice Ending and Restart

A shotgun blast of asteroids pummel the earth knocking out all satellites, communication, power, etc.

Unfortunately many die.

Unfortunately politicians and power people seek undergound shelter.

Fortunately, they become trapped in underground shelter.

Fortunately, the survivors find this infestation of the shittiest people on the planet.

Fortunately, the survivors rebound and restart and discover it is not the end of everything.

And then...the survivors begin to bring the undergrounders up in batches where they are tried, convicted and hung, stoned, drawn and quartered, etc. for their crimes.

There a big enough supply of shitty politicians and control freaks to do this once a week for years.
